Root [GUIDE] Howto Root LG Motion 4G

HELP!!!!! PLEASE???????? I have my LG Motion rooted and all was fine. Now it says security error Morningcall cannot be verified

I do believe that supersu has a feature that will allow you to switch to superuser if you feel necessary
I think there is another su app written by a russian dev who also made a busybox installer

He never made it...

Awwww, shucks. LOL Are there any roms out there that work good on this phone? I have noticed comments, but my searches fail me. My first root was a Samsung Intercept. I had the Bolt CM7 on it even further tweaked as to provide RAM and AWESOMENESS!! LOL. I heard that CM10 isn't available for this phone yet, but I sure would like to give it a test drive

Have you read the new threads yet?? There's a CM10 by BobZhome. The only problem is that 4G don't work and random reboots. Oh and Facebook will not work, installing it causes reboot.

I can't go very far with this root, after a few reboots, and deleted some bloatware it just gets the "security error" and i have to re-install firmware. I've been re-installing the "c" firmware, should i upgrade to the other versions?
also is there any apps i should steer clear from?
Thanks guys, i'm new :p

Dangit, I ran SystemBackupTest when I first installed it. Should I start over?

Here's the batch file output:

Ok, I did it again and it worked. I realized that the LG driver installer was done but it wasn't closed. Also I rebooted Windows.

It took only ten minutes once I figured out what to do. I believe my mistake was that I had the phone connected as MTP. Once I disconnected it, changed to charge only, it worked!

Now is there a guide to flash my phone back to ms77010d or c?

You betchya
Just pick one if those files
Everything is in that guide
Then use the Root guide if you want root after wards
I have 3 motions
2 are on version c
The third is on its way to lg for repair
Not sure what version i am gonna use on it yet

It took only ten minutes once I figured out what to do. I believe my mistake was that I had the phone connected as MTP and changed it to charging only while still connected. Once I disconnected it and plugged it in, it worked! Also I put the phone in airplane mode (I've upgraded blackberry software before ;-) )

The new warranty phone i received this week has ms77010f on it. The battery life is great (and I was using a 3600mah extended battery from an LG Optimus L7 P700)! but it's probably because I haven't reinstalled everything yet, not because I'm running f. Also I've noticed that the hotspot feature didn't work right away, but now it does. The only other change I've made is putting the phone into usb debugging mode and did a straight copy of all files from the "sdcard".

FIRST OFF, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I have a question though, its supposed to say
"* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
1958 KB/s (2005736 bytes in 1.000s)
1916 KB/s (91980 bytes in 0.046s)
2148 KB/s (996704 bytes in 0.453s)
rm failed for /data/local.prop, No such file or directory

REBOOT"
but mine is only saying
"* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
"
its been running 11 minutes now, how long should it take?

Will this method work with Windows XP pro 32 bit? I run Linux, but I keep a copy of XP lying around. I am referring to the method that got this post started. Thanks. :D

I ran this root method, and the unbrick, from a trial copy of Windows 8 using Parallels on my Mac. From that, I'd guess if you have VM software that you *should* be able to get it to work on Linux.

What are the differences between the firmwares? I run f and love it. Before root it ran at 1.5GHz and bypassed the hotspot lock. It gives you the standard warning, but does it anyways. Metro finally started throttling my data this month at 50GB. Last month I used well over 100GB on hotspot without paying for it. My friends Coolpad Quattro does hotspot too without the added plan.

Facebook I can do without, but not the 4G. :( I think I'll be patient and wait for the bugs to be worked out of the CM10. :) I use my phone for my home internet and therefor the 4G is vital
