For those of you that want to go the extra mile and flash ZVJ firmware onto your Optimus V, click on here to follow Sammyz' OptimusV ZVJ Guide!!

That's right, you read correctly.
In the past couple of days, I've been working on a Flashable ZIP that will automagically get ANY, and ALL Optimus S ROM, to be FULLY Functional for the Optimus V.
This Project was birthed in the ZVJ JellyBean CM10 thread for the V, and now I'm bringing it to it's own thread!

With this, you will be able to Flash Optimus S roms, such as HydroRom that was built only for ZVJ baseband Optimus S Phones, and get Button mapping, SMS, Calling, Data(reactivate your phone in GB Roms), and MMS(Still WIP, need help making a universal flashable MMS fix) fixed, and for use on the Optimus V.

SMS
Calling
Data(in GB Optimus S Roms it requires reactivating your phone.)
Button swapping.
To fix MMS(apparently works on GB, just follow this for JB), follow these instructions here

Connected to wifi, downloaded Solid Explorer and replaced files from the zip and set permissions. And there we go.

DOES NOT WORK IF YOU ARE ALREADY ON ZVJ (USING SAMMYZ GUIDE)
[info]Things you need to know
*These patches are for ROMs built for both the Optimus V and Optimus S on any baseband/firmware.

*Make sure you are flashing the correct patch, for the correct firmware.[/info]

And PLEASE report any Bugs you may(or may not lol) experience with this patch fix.

@Cammy I found a AOKP build for the Droid but it force closes a lot.

Not entirely, I've used the provided zip, to get hydrorom, ZVJ jelly bean, and quattrimus for the S to be fully functional (data requires extra stuff only on hydro rom), with JUST this zip flashed ontop ... go ahead, try it, and be amazed :p
 
Nvm. The one above, is just some lib files, mms.apk, and a keylayout file. That can be flashed on multiple roms, but wont always fix the problems you are having.

I'm thinking to fix data, sms, and or mms you just have to swap files in the framework.jar not the framework-res.apk.
The files that need to be swapped should be identical in any V ROM. Don't quote me on that though
I had that same data and mms problem with the ROM I'm currently running. Didn't have the proper tools at the time, but Gannon5197 jumped in an did the work of swapping the files out in the ROM that was being ported. Pretty sure their the same not matter what V ROM you take them out of.

If I remember correctly I pulled both ROM's framework.jar files and he did the swap with APK Tool. I then reinserted the Ported ROM's edited framework.jar back into the framework folder. mms and data fixed.

It fixes all service issues on non GB roms, SMS, calling, data, mms(I think), and button fix, which are basically the main issues when flashing an Optimus S rom on the V, everything after that, are rom specific fixes. This makes the S roms, functional for the V, and expands V users options for the V.
I originally made this so the current CM10 Jelly Bean rom for ZVJ Optimus S, to be functional on the Optimus V. I just had a theory, and it worked, and birthed this.
It is useful, and proves to be an asset to some users and devs.

I tryed it even tho I have zvj, I've been trying to get the buttons fixed on the hydro rom. Isn't working out well lol.
Edit: Fixed the keys killed the service. Lol

This is for use with LG Optimus V on zv4, zv5, and zv9, to get LG Optimus S ZVD, ZVH, and ZVJ roms to work on LG Optimus V. :p

If you're running ZVJ and you do this, you will lose service.......only do the key switch files and you should be good.
 
Updated the horribly outdated OP, and links.
Added the ZVD to ZVJ patch, to be used ONLY after if you followed Sammyz instructions to installing ZVJ on the Optimus V.
Can be used with any Optimus V rom, and Optimus S ZVD rom.

Lol yea xD
Even though some people may not have an AC account, I think it would be better that way.
Typically, people start out on AF, then move to AC, and eventually XDA. :p
