My daughter is only 3 right now but i know that i am starting engraving in her head that it isn't ok for her to look like "that" (half naked walking around)
I am all for self expression here is me, gauged ears, tattoos, alternate lifestyle (ie vampiric) yes OTD isn't the only one...
But when it comes to walking around pretty much saying "here i am easy come sleep with me" that sh!t isn't going to fly. Also this is why i am going to start getting into long range shooting contest and have all my trophys up for when she brings any boys/ girls over
And as a last not i will burn any of her less than acceptible clothing

When i first found out that we were having a girl i told everyone i am going to try and convince her to be a lesbian that way she will never come home pregnant till after she is at least old enough to get invitro (or how ever you spell it)

I am sorry but, if your a physically mature enough girl that you turn heads I don't care if your 12 or if your 20 you need to be aware of what your doing.
I feel no shame when I see girls underaged wearing hardly any clothing and I find myself staring. Why? because, honestly a lot of the time I don't think about age when I see that. If she is shaped like an adult she is going to draw attention like an adult.
I personally view it as a safety issue in a lot of respects..

but, ultimately, these girls due to tv magazines and media in general are to blame... and since we buy those magazines and products these girls, teens, boys, are impressonable believing that is what we want and likje in real life...
they cant seperate fantasyt from real life..
and we dont teach them that, at least not in depth... I guarantee if you figure out how to relate that type of dress and behaviour into thier understanding that it is SEXUALly provacative, and that wearing it does entice and attract in a sexual manner
if you can do that and get them to understand that sex is not a perv thing and that thier actions and wardrobe cant tell / differentiate between pervs and lookers... then and only then will they get the clue
until then i will gladly look...

I also was never really worried about 'boyfriends' and all that either.. and so far, she has done me proud.. not really a player and not really into the bad boy thing...
not trying to pat myself on the back or anything as she really isnt all that either... she is not really excelling or wanting anything more then whatever comes her way... no real drive yet... but who knows.. she is still young and she does have some good basics imbedded.. so we will see

I just saw it on my son's high school campus yesterday. How are boys supposed to concentrate? On their school work, I mean.
One reason I am all for single sex education.
Both genders learn in distinct ways.
Did you know that boys and girls of similar backgrounds have no education gap, until the first year they enter public school?
It doesn't matter if it's Kindergarten or First Grade. Boys start falling behind immediately upon entering public school. They learn differently, and with the overwhelming majority of early education teachers being women... boys are getting shorted on their education.

Well I think it really depends on the situation. Obviously, it's not uniform amongst all schools. Perhaps in general, boys fall behind but it's not because the teachers are women. It's not like they're taught to how to teach to girls better. I do understand what changes can come about from single sex education for lets say... middle and high school students, but for elementary students, it's really not a big issue.
I don't really understand how little boys learn differently from little girls as I think that would be very difficult to really have a good theory on. It's really different from case to case. I always did very well in school and I'm a boy... while others in my same class (boys and girls) did not do as well. Am I an exception?
I think perhaps there should be single sex education in the upper grades so that they could do better in school... but perhaps not because it could affect their daily social skills with ladies when they graduate.

It's funny how we're gonna segregate classrooms by gender, yet we shun the idea when it comes to careers.
I think each side has its pros and cons. But have you ever thought maybe parents don't take enough responsibility these days? I don't think it has much to do with gender as much as it does that parents won't beat the shit out of their kid if they're not doing their shit.

shit i got brought up getting spanked and all for it, it is better to punish your kids when they are young rather than let the courts do it when they are older.
Parents are the problem when their kids start doing stupid stuff and not paying attention.
Same here. I was hit with anything my parents could find. My white friends giggle when they hear my stories. But I think I would have been in a deeper hole than I am now had my parents not hit me.

My dad actually stopped paddling me after 3rd grade because I actually asked him point blank one day after I thought about it, "What is it supposed to teach me?". After that, he never did it again and never threatened to do it. Sixth grade was when I started to get big enough where he questioned if I'd hit back. Seventh grade was when he got real nervous about that because I beat the tar out of one of the school bullies. He'd been going for me since about fourth grade and I just decided to stand up for myself, and put him on his ass like he'd been doing to me.

I just steered clear of goth kids. I understand kids go through their rebellious stages during their teenage years, but you gotta grow out of it at some point. I see 20-some year olds walking down the street dressed very similar to the goths I saw in high school.
To each their own. If they blocked the halls in high school with their congregations, a smack to the head was enough. They did it on purpose and it was part of their plan to rebel against the authority. Yes. Blocking the halls.
I still haven't let it go from high school, despite being three years removed from it. If I could go back.......
Irony, its the preps, cheerleaders, and football players who always blocked the halls at my school..
You know the people the teachers let be late to class and then got mad at the rest of us.
