Have you ever seen a ghost?

My mom for the longest time always had a few that would follow her. I have only seen two of the 3. One lady in a red dress and one huge black dude. They are never aggressive, just kind of there. I've tried to talk to them but they disappear right when I do..

Really??? Do they appear always or only sometimes ? Does it affect your day to day activities when they are there?

btw my dad claims he had seen a ghost when he was small. I haven't seen any.

As a kid and teen I "saw" several things that were serious enough at the time.. enough to make me puke on the spot.. that I now of course question or straight don't believe. Considering the time that has passed and that I was a kid, etc. Being an adult makes you question things :P

However, there was one very serious experience that occurred the night a friend (ex-"gf") of mine was killed in a car accident about.. 17 years ago. It's a long story I won't get into here. I'd never even told the story to anyone until a few years ago, and I damn sure never have nor will make it a point to defend it and try to convince anyone it was real.

I knew something had happened to her - all but "knew" she was dead - hours before we got the phone call. It kept me up all night, and we got the call the next morning. I stand by it 100,000%.

With that said - no I've not SEEN anything that I'm 100% sure of anymore, but I would really, really love to. It would confirm SOME sort of afterlife or other-life which would do a huge amount for my well-being. The event above at best proves, to me, some sort of transitional.. something, but nothing more.

I would absolutely love to see a real, up close, very clear and non-debatable (even if just to me) apparition. For the sake of my religious/beliefs/lack-there-of internal struggles.

Edit: In a related note, this topic too has always had me very intrigued, and I've often though of starting a community for it.

Live long enough and you will experience ghosts. I have experienced the "Ghost of Why the Hell Did I Do That" and lots of Regret Ghosts, and numerous Past Sins Ghosts. As they say, some ghosts come back to haunt you.

They are real, just live a long and reckless life and you will hear them screaming in the distance late at night as you fall asleep.

At my old house, my neighbor had a couple of stories.

1) At his previous home in Texas (before moving to California), he and his his family saw a ghost for about 14 years. They said it was a man and never bothered them. Always walked/floated down their hallway late at night, never veering from that path. His family made sure to avoid the hallway during that time period. But there were times when he said that him and his dad approached and tried to communicate with the ghost many times during those years, but it never responded. When they finally moved, he wondered if it would follow them to their new place (like somehow felt attached to his family), but it didn't.

2) Before I moved, he was my neighbor right next door to me and I used to go to his house every now and then. One time, I went to help him move a new hdtv into his master bedroom and the huge bathroom mirror (which covers the length of two sinks) was missing. I asked him why he took down the mirror, did it crack or fall down? He said him and his wife removed it on purpose because his wife and daughter both saw a ghost in the reflection and they described it as evil-looking. And since he believes in ghosts, he took it down right away. When he shared this story with the previous owner of the house that he still kept in touch with, the owner said "oh, you've seen the old guy in the mirror, too? Yeah, he's creepy, just stares at you". After hearing that story and sharing it with my wife when I got home, she told me never to visit the neighbor's house again.

Same reason I would want to see something! Reassurance.

I used to live in a house where something bad happened ( while I was living there). During that time weird things would happen, visitors would say they saw someone in the room, a weird light would circle the ceiling.... I believe that all that stuff was somehow caused by the bad thing that happened. No one died but the thing was pretty horrible and the house just didn't feel the same anymore... I didn't know of it until after but I made the connection as I got older... at least I believe I made it lol... still haven't seen anything other than the weird light though

Apparently I have, but I was too young to remember. My mother had a cousin who was more like a brother (old Italian families, everyone grows up together). At some point he contracted AIDS. Because of his disease (and remember this is almost 30 years ago), when I was born, he wasn't able to ever see me. He would tell my mother that he was bound and determined to see me.

He would succumb to his disease around the time I was about 2-3 years old. He never did get to see other than behind glass. The day he passed, my mother and godmother (also her cousin) came home to find me sitting in the hallway laughing and giggling. When they asked me what I was doing, I said I was playing with Cousin Genie. You can only imagine their shock, and asked me to describe him, which I did to a tee.

Since then, I can't say I've ever seen a ghost visually. But I've def been made aware of presences that go against what we currently know of Earthbound physics.

GHOSTS DON`T EXIST!

all what you have seen is an illusion.

you may only see them after you get awake from a nightmare, it`s like the dream gets combined with the reality, you see some thing from the dream in the real world, but it is not really there.

you may not only see ghosts, but also what you FEAR

and to what you fear away,
CONTROL YOUR FEAR

Whoa, very loud talker who I suppose is trying to get the message across that their answer is the only answer and it's not even worth discussion.. I turned your volume down a hair in this quote, hope you don't mind.

....who said anything about fear?

LOL! Need more attention? Yell louder next time. BTW, I'll let my friend and his family know that the ghost they've all seen floating down their hallway every night for 14 years was just their illusion/fear.

Ive wanted to bring a recording device when I visit family/friends graves... The thought is always in the back of my head that I may pick up an evp.. I just worry about pissing off another spirit and having it follow me home. To Tommy78 Have you ever seen first hand 1 billion dollars? No? Then, how do you know it exists?

I've seen thousands of dollars. The economy requires that money change hands. It is reasonable to believe that I am not the only one who uses money. It is also reasonable to believe that large organisations (big businesses and governments) need to use money as well. When you take into account all of the people in the world and organisations in the world, there exists 1 billion dallars amongst them all. I believe money exists as I have seen some first hand, and everyone I know talk about money and use it on a regular basis.

I feel better "knowing" there's no such thing. I sleep better, have better times camping out in the woods, spelunking, skydiving, scuba cave diving and visiting old castles in Germany, Austria and England.

There are enough real things in life to be careful about, why conjure up things that can't be proven?
