Root Help with SuperUser

i know but honestly im so mentally drained at this point it is the best for me to turn around, i may try again tomorrow night. thanks again for all of you help

returning to stock involves flashing a stock rom in hboot. to do this, youll need to make 100% sure that the md5 sums match and that this file is uncorrupt. youll also need to charge your phone to 100% before you attempt it.

hboot flashing is not to be taken lightly,if you are going to try and re-root again tomorrow,id highly advise you to simply turn your phone off and go to sleep, and mess with it again tomorrow. you are rooted, you just need to flash a rom in order to get it working.

i would only return to stock,if you intend to stay there. youre much more likely to screw your phone up by unrooting and re-rooting that just leavin it alone for a few hours. flashning a bad file in recovery ends up in a harmless bootloop. flshing a bad file in recovery ends in a bricked phone.

my 2 cents.

i think i may do that, just check and my radio is the most current. Like you said it must just be a corrupt file. I will retry tomorrow, thanks.

also, just to make sure im understanding... are you using clockwork recovery to flash? or rom manager?

Are you getting an error message on a computer I don't recall ever seeing an android device give a directory like in the error message you are getting.

If you are flashing in recovery you need to choose to pick the zip from the sd card and the navigate to the zip and select it, kinda sounds like you are trying to let recovery choose the zip for you

yes,it may be helpful to describe how you are attempting to flashe the .zip file in as much detail as possible.

a couple of thots that come to mind:
-if you are using rom manager, dont do that. use clockwork recovery
-if you are using clockwork, there is a signiture verification in clockwork... its off by default, and surprisingly, alot of roms that will flash just fine will abort the install if you try and toggle it on. you may have toggled it on by mistake, its right under "choose zip from sd card".
-did you extract the rom file? or are you accidentally trying to flash the radio file instead of the rom file? either of those things would cause the install to abort

i dont recall that exact message in clockwork. thats why i was thinking maybe hes trying to use rom manager? maybe it gives such a message?

clockwork will give a similar message, when it cant open a file, but i dont recall it telling you the romname and location.

IIRC, you'll get that error message when you select "install update from SD card" or whatever it says.

The update.zip one perhaps? I could see that happening if you did not have an update.zip on the root of your sd and choosing that option. Does anyone ever do the update.zip method at all any more?

Yes, that's the one. I don't think there's currently any use for it, other than giving noobs a head rush when they accidentally select it ;)

I am almost tempted to test it out now, just to see if it would work.

if you rename a rom "update.zip" it will work. but like you guys have said, there really isnt much point.

hellloooooo agav13... anyone home? any progress?
