Help with wifi profiles

Off topic....

Found in a different post

If performance is an issue ... did you clear the Data Cache Buffer where temporary files are stored? (Clear it once a week.)

How to do this ?

@Careingemt, I had described the geofence reconfig when I shared the project but I admit it was not as clear as now.

One more thing.
I found something out when I decided to start from scratch. I.e. I picked up my work phone, installed Tasker and imported the file like you would have, to see if I was missing anything.

I had to set the variable %ShouldIHaveWifi to yes before the profile worked properly.
It's something I didn't put in the boot task because you may reboot your phone away from home so you can't assume that WiFi should be on.

So please check what value this variable has on your phone and set it once.

EDIT: I was wrong, it is perfectly fine to have this line:
Variable > Variable Set > %ShouldIHaveWifi = no
in the boot task. It is then correctly set to yes if you are at home.

I struggle a bit with my work phone as it's an old Samsung galaxy Nexus S and runs on 4.1.2, which does not allow scanning WiFis when WiFi is off. I can work around it by configuring AutoLocation's Location monitor (for now: 60s interval, type balanced, smallest displacement 100m if anyone is interested). Careingemt, you're on KitKat and you have the WiFi scanning always available so this side note is for anyone browsing around and on an older OS).

Careingemt (or someone else), if you want, I can release another version of the project with these changes:
- corrections to the Boot task
- Added Work geofence (which then can be switched on/off depending on the user's needs)
- Ability to switch on/off the logging (I'm probably the only crazy enough to have my own logging system, although useful when you forgot what time you started work when it's time to fill in your time sheet!!)
- Separate instructions regrouping all the knowledge we've gathered over the last few pages

why did this happen

Rebooted and is fine now

Whether it's Tasker or not that crashed, there's nothing we can do here. It's probably a one off...

In case you missed it, check my edited post above your latest screenshots...

Where did I say you were wrong?

"It is OK to have this" > what do you mean?

Today I tried to make a new project for work with new geofaces....

When I arrived at home

At home Geoface is messed up don't know Y but it needs fixed cause at home and WiFi keep getting turned on and off like I am leaving and entering home Geoface ... But I am sitting in living room

Open the geofence in Autolocation and see where you are on the map compared to the geofence.

One thing I would do before that is go to Settings > Location> Accuracy mode and set it to Battery Saving so the GPS doesn't kick in when showing the map in Autolocation.

Note: I'm working on version 2 of the project, it should be ready tomorrow...

At last, version 2 of our connectivity project!

Careingemt, please have a go. But please do things in order (or you could hate me):

- Create a back up of your stuff, we never know (Data > Back Up)
- Tap and Hold on the existing Connectivity project (icon at the bottom) and tap on Delete (and Delete contents).
- Import the project
- Follow the instructions provided (clues: reset the geofences profiles and run 'Initial Setup' task)

I've fixed bugs, made some improvements, included the Keyguard switching when at home and even added a settings menu... hopefully everything is there.

Please let me know if it works but also if the instructions are ok.
Thanks!!

EDIT at 23:34 BST: re-uploaded with minor changes

Reading the instructions first is always the thing to do. Except for when putting together IKEA furniture...

I've already made some changes so you need to refresh the page again to see the latest edited message and included link and redownload the project.
