Hot Battery? Record it's Temp

doesn't juiceplotter record the temperature? i can see what the temp of my battery was at any given time as long as the app was running.

mine stays between 30 and 40 celcius unless i'm using the gps in the car. for some reason then it gets really hot.

I've had the same experience. I use Battery Monitor (puts the percentage in notification bar, and puts temperature/voltage/battery health in the notification window) and it's reported around 48 degrees Celsius and overheat in the battery health, and then it stops charging. This is when using Pandora and Navigation, also in a hot car. I was thinking it was my car charger at first, but I don't believe this is the case, as I'm on my second car charger and experiencing the same problem. I've also had the issue with two different batteries; the original battery, as well as the 1500 OEM.

After unplugging my phone from the car at 80%, my phone only lasted for about 10 hours (not normal), but I believe this was due to poor reception in the area I was in. I hope it's not due to the battery overheat earlier in the day...

i was wondering why my phone stops charging in the car while using my gps. i thought maybe it was my car charger, too, but it only does it when i use gps. i thought maybe it was the overheating of the battery. wonder if there's anyway around this. what if i'm driving a long way and need the gps the entire time? i mean, i guess if i fully charge before i leave i'll get a few hours out of it...
 
Considering 28C is 82F, 23.8C would put my battery at a temp cooler than the ambient air temp right now which is 81.

Mine, after it's been sleeping is: 23.8*C

I don't know if the temperature can be displayed in *F.

I haven't found an App that records CPU temp for the Incredible, if it's possible.

Battery status pro displays the battery temperature in the notification panel (there is an icon in the top bar that displays a little battery with the % in the middle). I find it useful, but i don't know how accurate it is or where it gets the info.

Right now, mine's charging all by itself on the stand with a case and stock battery, it is 95 degrees farenheit. I'll record it when I feel the phone getting hot int he future.
 
One thing you can do to cool your battery if it gets hot while driving using GPS is to take out the battery, roll down the window, and stick your battery out while driving. Keep this for a few minutes, then place battery back. Also, you must do this with one hand, and never taking your eyes off the road. :p
 
Highest I've been at was 116.6 degrees Fahrenheit, and that JUST off of trying to find a good cell signal in a rural area I'm pretty sure, and that was HOT. I'd hate to have to feel what 130+ feels like...can a phone take that for extended periods?
 
Minr has been as high as 59.4C. That's from sitting in the center cubby of my car for 12 hours on a sunny day that peaked at about 100F. Placed the phone in front of a vent and it dropped like a rock.
 
I have run mine to 149F just navigating in the car. However after about 120F or so the phone stops charging so you have to cool it down or you will drain the battery within about an hour while navigating. I think part of it is when the phone is in direct sunlight. If I put the dock on my driver side window by the air vent it will maintain about 100F while navigating.
 
Mine seems to run around 88-92 F on average during general use (web/text/email/calls). Don't do a lot of streaming/gaming but I'm sure that average would go up significantly if I did.
 
I was walking home tonight listening to music in 6 degree Fahrenheit weather. When I finally got home, I was surprised (but not really) to see via Elixir that my battery temperature was a chilly 40 degrees Fahrenheit! It came back up to its usual 80-90 F range, but it was just weird to see it so low!

Same here, I got mine up to a little over 150 last summer while I was working, driving, I was using MAPS and streaming Pandora, and there was no air in the truck, I thought it was going to damage the internals, but nothing happened. GO HTC!
 
One time I got mine up to 112F. Thats the hottest I have ever got mine. It was on the charger and I was watching youtube videos. Normally it sits around 78F to probably 90F. But I don't use my phone to listen to music or anything like that too often. And all of these temps are with my case, a Trident Kraken, on. My phone is very rarely out of the case.
 
mine is almost always 40*C to 55*C but its been flirting with getting below 40 since i started stopping amazon mp3 and skype
 
Does anyone else's DIncs reboot when getting above or around 40*C? Mine seems to do it on the regular. I have a Seidio case on it as well.
 
System Info app gives you temp in Fahrenheit as well as memory and storage info in a widget. Nothing about CPU though.

I have personally gotten the amber light on my droid eris i didnt notice it till i came to this thread. My eris is running at 47 c and i have the flashing amber light it is still responsive but its not charging if you go into the number posted in post 1 *#*#4636#*#* and look at the battery information it will say battery health: overheat. that is all the blinking amber light is. when the health goes into overheat the light starts blinking
 
I know that one the side of the battery that faces the inside of the device there is a max temp, but I don't recall what it says, maybe 60*C....
