Root How do you read the ha and aaa password from the opv?

DFS might work but I'm pretty sure you have to unlock the phone with LGNPST Lab before DFS can read it.

The other option is to dump the NVram and read it with a hex editor.

Thanks. I found a youtube video that told me the same thing. took me awhile before I figured out how to install LGNPST tho. Keep getting errors. I final got it. Didn't help me tho. I was trying to get 3G back on my optimus v after I flashed sprint firmware.
 
I have installed LGNPST and downloaded the dll that is shown in the video but when I launch lgnpst and try to select the dll it is not listed,also I tried to follow the instructions on how to install it but I dont seem to have the same files shown on the video. Not sure how to add the components he is talking about.Can someone post all the links I need and what versions.Thanks in advance.
 
Thanks for the quick response! I already have the msl/spc code. I just need some help on setting up lgnpst to get the aaa and ha keys.Im trying to flash a sprint phone to virgin mobile and using the optimus v as the donor.

Nice, if you are running ZVJ, you MUST downgrade to ZVD first before flashing any OV firmware.
 
I was finally able to unlock my optimus v with lgnpst . Then I went in to DFS and connected my phone and I was able to get the phone info. My problem is that I don't know where to find the aaa and ha passwords or how they even look like! lol.please help, maybe a screenshot would help? Thanks
 
If you watch the video that's linked to in the Sticky at the top of this forum it will allow you to see with your eye's what it is supposed to look like. The LGNPST is just used to allow for the use of the DFS 3.1.0.1 which is what your going to use to actually read your AAA codes (I tried other versions of the DFS but the 3.1.0.1 was the only one that worked for me). It is also a good idea to get your ESN and MIN from it as well.

I'm the same way, I have to see it with my own to eye's to fully understand.
The video helped me out a lot.

Note: The AAA code hexadecimal is in the 2nd or 3rd data profile in the mobile IP tab.
