Root How to go back to stock lg esteem?

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering how can I go back to a stock rom with no super user app? I want to exchange my phone for warranty related issues.

depends on how much you have done to your phone. Just to get rid of root, remove superuser and any other apps that required root.

I've flashed a custom rom. How would I remove SU? The only way I can think of is Titanium back up. I'd preferably would just like to have the phone like the way it came from the factory.

Important

Just to be safe you NEED to revert to stock FIRST BEFORE YOU UNROOT. Why? because if something happens and you get stuck in a bootloop you wont be screwed. of course make sure you still have CWM installed and have a BACKUP on hand as normal. Have 2 just incase ;) :D

LETS GET STARTED

Here is the unrooter

But as far as 100% stock? You can downgrade to B then upgrade back to D but its gonna take you about an hour and a half total time.

-OR you can do this and this is easier and will save you a lot of time.

Download www.androidcommander.com

Then download the stock ZIP for your software version. B, C or D

http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/513323-esteem-stock-pulls.html

Then unzip the zip and save it on your desktop.

Put your phone in internet connection with usb debug on. Open commander.

Make sure your phone files are "Mount R/O". you can do this through root explorer on the top right of the app. It should be R/O but gotta make sure or you cant paste anything to the phone.

Once commander is open you will see a split window. On the left is your computer files and on the right is you phone files.

What you can do is push all the "stock" files from the zip over to the right side (the phone). Reboot and your phone will be 100% stock with no root.

(Just "drag" the files over to the right side from your desktop. A pop up will come up and ask you where. Choose "right side". Once you finish dragging all the files over jsut reboot the phone. Phone should boot up just fine. I've done this several times before. BUT if it boot loops for whatever reason. Boot into CWM or you can just click reboot recovery in commander. Commander will recognize the phone once it starts to boot so you will be able to choose it even know the phone isn't booted up.)

I hope all this helps. If you have any problems just send me a PM and Ill do what I can. You should be okay as long as you follow the directions carefully. Remember MAKE A BACKUP and DONT UNROOT FIRST. ;)

guys ive tried this over and over, and i see that as its running{android commander} its shows some files missing, and when i drag the files and click right side it starts but when commander is dueing its thing my phone reboots and commander is transfering the files.i believe thats why some files are missing, cause my phone is rebooting,so commander cant due its job lol,so if anyone can help or has a 100% way of getting back to stock! by the way,if your phone was zvb at time of purchase,is that where you need to be when going back to metro about exchanging phone?

I need to get back to stock so I can sell this phone to GameStop. I know I should have back ups but they aren't working for some reason. Any help please.

The way I did was I had the phone rooted (obviously), I downloaded a stock back up found here in the forums under ([Add-Ons] Apps & Stock files for all roms). the file is called zvd_stock. Place this "zvd_stock (DO NOT Flash in recovery, place in your 'clockworkmod/backup' folder, then flash in backup/restore menu)" From there, use the same tool you used to install CMW and there's an option where you can unroot and install the phones stock recovery and boom, unrooted and bone stock.

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering how can I go back to a stock rom with no super user app? I want to exchange my phone for warranty related issues.

I spent ALOT OF TIME searching, got a lot of dumb workaround stuff that is completely UNNECESSARY.
Rom#2 with the ZVE kernel worked awesome on my phone except the fact that my 4g would fall off to 3g and it would not resync its network back to lte without restarting the phone. I did everything from Any Cuts shortcuts etc, the shortcut you got to switch the network to lte would auto restart the phone anyways.
Factory reset the phone, rooted it again, leaving it as it just rooted for a few days to see if 4g holds, been 40 hrs still holding, haven't seen it drop to 3g yet to confirm it resyncs to 4g again but either way, if you want your phone 100% STOCK (it will erase everything, I suggest you download titanium back up and back up w/e you need. make sure titanium back up is in your sd external card, or its bye bye too even with the back up I believe.)

DOWNLOAD DRIVERS FROM LG WEBSITE FOR YOUR MS910. (GOOGLE IT)
DOWNLOAD LGMobile Support Tool. (PROBABLY ON SAME PAGE AS THE DRIVERS, IF IM NOT WRONG IT EVEN COMES WITH IT, IF NOT AGAIN JUST GOOGLE THE NAME OF THE APP)
CONNECT YOUR ESTEEM TO YOUR PC THROUGH YOUR USB, (PUT YOUR PHONE TO INTERNET CONNECTION BY EITHER CLICKING THE POP UP, OR GOING TO SETTINGS/CONNECTIVITY/DEFAULT CONNECTION MODE, SELECT IT. IF YOUR PHONE IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE LG SOFTWARE, DOUBLE CHECK YOUR DEBUGGING IS ON BY GOING TO /SETTINGS/APPLICATIONS/CHECK USB DEBUGGING.)
ONCE YOUR PHONE IS CONNECTED AND SYNCED WITH THE LG SOFTWARE, CLICK OPTIONS ON THE SOFTWARE, UPDATE RECOVERY.
ONCE DONE, FACTORY RESET YOUR PHONE BY GOING TO /SETTINGS/PRIVACY/FACTORY RESET.

done, enjoy your brand new out of the box stock LG MS910 ESTEEM AKA code Bryce.

Thanks but i have been telling everyone to do this since the lg tool has been updated . And not just this device a lot of lg devices can do this but thanks .:D:thumbup: o hey welcome to the forums also . Thanks

Thank you. Just felt like it needed to be there. I couldn't find any article on how to get this done no matter what keyword I googled. So I figured I'd stick this here since its the first link when you search for lg esteem stock rom, and hopefully it will save some people a few hrs/days of headaches.

whenever you on the lg update tool you got to enter your model phone
rigt after you press options/update recovery
then you enter it for example LG-ms910 then your IMEI number on the next box other wise the lg update tool wont work
