Wish granted. People suddenly stopped asking for help and I have found time to rack up a video. Look in the 5th post.

Very nice video, Joser! Who was that? Was it you? :)

It looks very easy and looks great actually...phone speed also was impressive.

I'm very curious about one thing though and that is why were you using a MetroPCS phone when you have Cricket?

:)

That's cause it is not me in the video. I never said it was me. ;)

So question,

I know some instances why you would want this over the stock rom that came with it. But before i put it on my android i want to know some of the personal benefits that have been seen using this over the stock rom.

Im stuck at step 5.

I have my phone on the huawei screen like you said.

But when I press voulme up, call and power nothing happens.

You need to first turn the phone off. If necessary, pull out the battery then press and hold Volume UP, Call Key,and Power until clockwork comes out. Keep those buttons pressed until the clockwork mod screen comes out.

First of all, I'd like to thank especially Isaac and everyone else who helped develop this rom. I am more than happy with the results and this thing runs circles around the factory phone in so many ways. Before it was so laggy and ugly I was already looking for another phone. Now I can keep my ultra cheap unlimited plan. ^_^

A few days after the first boot I had turned it off a few times and booted it up no problem. Then one day it decided to boot loop. I figured the first harmless thing to try would be fix file permissions from clockwordmod recovery and it worked! :D

Can't wait to learn how to develop and contribute! Thanks again!

What a coincidence! I was just about to put that fix into the troubleshooting section in the 3rd post.

Nope still struggling..lol.

Ok I did what you said but when I held voulume, send and power it just went to the huawei screen with the logo off to the left a little bit

Are you on Cricket or Metro?

This seems a little too advanced for me to try but thanks for all the work you obviously put into this. I have been reading you guys for a while before I signed up and you are a big asset to this forum.

I respect your decision but let me tell you this. As of now, there have been 3 people completely new to this and they have Icarus up and running with no hiccups. I know that there are a few people here who are having trouble but that shouldn't discourage you. However, I advise that you wait a little bit until I find the final formal solution to everyone's problems.

i have spent the last 3 hours trying to get this to work...it doesnt

after i try steps 1-5....it boots into safe mode..i get no recovery screen

huawei (POS) ascend for metro pcs

So I guess if you have Windows XP you cant do these steps?

You can but since I had Windows 7, the computer does one step automatically that I just found out that Windows XP doesn't do automatically. I will add that step and let you know. For now just reboot the phone.
