I just got the update!

Scratch that.

Youtube app STILL broken. GPS does seem better though.

I'm heading to the VZW store today, and if that's no good next door to Best Buy.

Anyone have any ammo to use when I hit the store and tech who does not want to give me a new phone. (i'm dreaming, but if it won't update.. i don't want to be stuck with a crap phone for the next year)

I would assume if this update won't process on my phone... froyo won't process either.

Have you tried restoring stock .apk's?

Verizon support is willing to replace devices that show that error when updates are attempted. They most often provide a refurb.

After watching it fail, doing a hard reset and then attempting to update again Verizon is replacing it. Should have a new-to-you phone Monday. Or, if I get lucky, sometime Saturday.

BTW, all the VZW employees working in the front of the house today were using SF's as their personal phone.

I just checked Hulu and NO- it is not supported.

My office website requires flash for it's display and was never visible until this update came out- exact same experience with my D1 when it got the real 2.2. IIRC, the D1 2.2 was a two step process. Methinks we got part of 2.2 but I now have flash (lite or whatever) that allows my website to fully display when it did not before. Still no Hulu so it is not the "real" flash we were expecting. We'll know for sure when our phone reads shows 2.2 and not 2.1 update version 1
 
Anybody notice the update allows the buttons lit up at the bottom to stay lit up- no more fumbling in the dark to find the back button!!!!!

Yea I'll call my bad on that part Ive been running DJ05 for so long that I forgot thats where the crap flash I have came from

Yea there are a lot of posts with ppl that were complaining they didnt have them that now have them and are complaining that they cant turn them off when they want to lol:rolleyes:

full flash is 2.2 only....flash lite allows some sites to display....so some websites that you previously couldnt go to will be accessible

but games/videos etc not so much

and hulu is actually blocked for mobile devices (copyright issues) but many devs hack flash to make it work....but that involves root/custom roms generally
 
I rooted my SF using Z4 from the market. My phone works fine, except not having full flash like all SF's. Do I need this update, because I get the update failed ip_update_previous error? Please help guys.

none of us have full flash...that is a feature of 2.2
 
Z4? I couldn't find it in the market anywhere!? Where did you find it? Seems unlikely to be allowed in the market, given it's a one click root app...

Anyone have any idea about this?
 
Hey, I'm sad I haven't gotten the update yet...anyone else got it in Chicago?

When I got to "Check New" it goes to "please wait" ....for 5+ mins then just disappears .....with no update :( . I even made sure to be on 3g with no wifi.....any advice?

its possible i suppose that it *might* (very small chance) work because its not a full recovery unless you have voodoo recovery...but i doubt it

really theres so many other ways to get dl09 that the ota is about your worst option

Can you please tell me how to do it besides over the air. Because I tried twice and failed, and yes I'm rooted with clockwork mod.

Just keep waiting, there's no rhyme or reason to who gets it an when, you probably will have it any day now. You havent de-bloated your SF did you?

if you havent touched bloatware and dont have clockwork recovery installed then you there really isnt a reason you wouldnt pull and be able to install the update

just push stock recovery in odin...and then try it

but again...really the dl09 files we have now are the *exact* same as the ota...so i dont see why you wouldnt want to use that...i mean if you have cwr, then clearly your ok with odin :)
