Sounds like you wiped out your recovery. My Advice is to quit trying to worry about updating by the way your thinking ITS VERY WRONG.

First lets get you a recovery back Instead of Clockwork I would Suggest Amon RA a much better recovery : Amon RA

Make sure you name the file Exactly PC36IMG.zip make sure it only has 1 .zip

Let me know when you have the recovery working.

argedion. I really appreciate that. I am going to go ahead and install the recovery now. But my phone wont load at all I am trying to find a way to access my sd card because I currently do not have a slot on my computer. I should have it later today hopefully. As soon as I do I will post here. And yeah I found out after the fact that is the wrong way to go =/

No worries, its a train of thought a lot of people have. You are actually able to upgrade/downgrade your phone to any version of android you want without having to unroot it.

The red ! mark you saw is the stock recovery, so you were successful at putting that back on there.

The main feature I am trying to add is the ability to use the hdmi port to mirror the image to my tv so I can watch movies from my phone to the tv.. What rom would you guys recommend? What route? Unrevoked3 was what I was using before this mess..

The route you used to gain root isn't really important anymore untill you get to the point where you need to unroot it. Once you gain root access you have it.

Once you get set up with Amon Ra I would go with MikG 3.0. Your going to need a custom kernel in order to do HDMI mirroring. I'd Suggest Lithids Aggressive Freedom Universal.

out of curiosity do you have s-on or s-off? what is your hboot now?

and really the best way to get updated is to just flash a rom. all an update is is a change in software which is what basically roms are. once a new update is out all you will have to do is wait for the devs to cook up a new (or existing rom) with the added software. also keep in mind that most ota's will change your hboot. and if that happens you will most likely be unrooted and there might be a chance that it will not be rootable. you will then have to wait for the dev's to figure out how to root the new hboot. and that could take a while.

fortunately the latest software 4.54 did not change hboot so it is still rootable with revolutionary. but to maintain good habits, never accept an ota. just wait and flash an ota rom when it comes out.

i hope you can get rooted again with amon ra. ask away if you have questions.

Ocn I was assuming by his post that he had only run the ruu and not the s - on tool. He never stated either way though so good question. I was figuring we could get him on a recovery then on mikg.

I am actually going to hangout with my cousin today who has an android phone and he is going to let me pop my card in his phone so I can get the file on my card lol. That is the issue I am currently having but that shouldnt take long. What is the next file I need? The rom I need to flash for the phone to actually load an os

Rename the recovery file pc36img.zip (not .zip.zip) put it top level of your SD card then get your phone to the bootloader and update from there

Ok I am still new to the scene and this may sound like a stupid question.. What is really the difference between many systems? They all have root access correct? Except for the Stock rom

Root does not have any thing to do with your rom.. root simply means u have unlocked the security allowing u to read and right to the hardware.. u can have a stock rom and still be rooted.. only way u will lose root is to flash the s-on tool

beast is correct Rooting the phone only turns off the "Hardware Securities"

When you get a chance you really want to invest a few dollars into a card reader its well worth the ten bucks.

If your going to put everything you need on the card then yes you will need the Amon RA and the ROM you wish to flash. You should wipe three times everything but SDCARD. So you may also want to put caulkins format all on the card (found in root sticky up top) or vrsuperwipe (also found in sticky) Rooting for dummies is also in my sig.
