Can anyone report on this? Why the caution?

I just stated that as an "precautionary" measure due to the fact I don't know what if anything has been changed within the googletts.apk but one can simply backup the original and then flash without worries.

Have you tried it? If so how well does it work?
Just curious. Thanks again for the link.

it loads for me but its not working. After initializing it goes right to "Sorry I didn't catch that?" retry?
Then i click retry and it closes. Anyone else try this on the marquee yet? Im gonna go back and clear cache and try again.

update: still no dice. I can get it to work by typing but I cant do it by voice.

Same here.

On the verge of having a functional multi ROM with patches for model specific files. Should have that done tomorrow, then back to the camera and vibrator. We still might be on track for a release this week.

For those with signal issues, try adding signalstrength to the ril v3 override in build.prop and let me know if it works.

OK guys this is a working Google now.
Its a bit of a hack that I found combing several forums but here you go.

Flash the mikey6 Google now zip through cwm

Afterwards install the voice search apk.

You need to use the voice search apk for the voice functionality of google now to work. But it indeed works.

Edit: if you want to mimic the swipe up functionality of jellybean use apex launcher and in the apex settings you can add gestures. I added swipe up for voice search.

I use Holo plus and added this as a gesture as well, double tap for me. So far this is working quite well! Great find

Good look k28, I was over here losing my mind trying to get voice to work. I believe I came across said zip but there were 2 types, offline (which was like 15mb) and on/offline which was like 35mb. Anyway I noticed this zip is marked "offline" but it's like 36mb so I'm wondering does it do online as well?

offline is better because it doesn't rely on using data. U have the online/offline

Got everything done however I can't sync my google account. Play store also won't open for me. Not sure what I did wrong....I guess do a full wipe and start again??

Someone I think mentioned the speakerphone not working however it worked flawless for me on boost.

@K28:
Could the data restore I did after installing cm9 be the problem? I have a feeling that my older gingerbread based apps(from my backup) are overwriting the ics gapps..just a thought...

That could be. In any case make a titanium backup and do a full wipe. I didn't have that problem but that might be the issue

Ok, did a full wipe and reflashed now I'm good

I don't think I let my google account sync long enough the first time. Still havent tried to restore my data. I wanted to make sure google and the store synced for a bit.

Is there a way to get into recovery from settings? I've been shutting down and going in manually..

Yea the restore of my backup data still isn't working....I've tried a few times. After I restore the data I reboot and no google account, no store..It's a small handful of apps. Not a huge deal really. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Anyone try Apex launcher? I hear it's the best.

This is the actual directory structure from a multi-rom. Note the bsdiff files for each model take less than 200kb on average for a grand total of under 1mb.

thats awesome. Glad u didnt take the easy way and just throw them all into aroma and make people choose.

Lol. For me this is the easy way. I am pretty sure it took less time to make the baseband reader than to learn aroma scripting. ;)

Ya aroma is pretty easy as well. Mostly the same process they just add the change log and license agreement on different files. Other than that the updater-script stays the same

I love the rom so far. CM9 is pretty sick.

A few things I've noticed:

I get a strange flash when the screen wakes.

I am able to change my governor in cpu settings and Apply on boot works. I've also noticed that my cpu has been at different speeds. Not sure how accurate that is as I haven't found the cpu history menu some of you have posted screen shots of.

Glad I flashed, CM9 is pretty sweet. My best friend who is a die hard apple fanboy/hipster was over when I flashed the ROM and I'm pretty sure he creamed his jeans when he saw the boot ani :)
