Root ICS/CM9-JB/CM10 Development Thread

Is it just me or is tapatalk totally screwed recently? Blank posts all over and won't quote the correct post when replying, for starters.

If you see weird posts from me, it's likely that. Sorry.

Yeah, it has been like that for me for the last week or so.

Pandora does not recognize VM855 as a supported device.

Well how about that. Pandora, your app is really getting on my nerves.

I guess I'll have to change the build props. Sigh.

I think its better that the in-call volume is higher. I live in NYC and I can actually hear the person on the other line on a busy street. Plus turn it down one notch and nobody can hear my conversation. My issue is that the headphone volume is dreadfully low.

Anyone notice the in-call volume is extremely loud? It's so loud the speaker distorts and people 3 to 5 feet away can hear the person on the other end with the volume at absolute minimum.

I think I get this too, initial call volume is really loud. Did you try turning the volume up (maybe all the way up) before turning it back down? That seems to make it work. It's similar to a bug that was in CM7.

I can confirm this. I hate it.

Flashed CM9 last night and wow, it looks great. No problems at all the whole process went off without a hitch. This ROM has really come a long way in the last few months and its great to see such a stable build as an alpha release. Thank you to all the devs and testers and everyone who put work into this ROM. Really great work, guys.

@blooddawn the new kernel seems to be working pretty smooth as well!

The few minor bugs are really not a big issue when you look at everything else this ROM can do. However, as a Boost user, I am wondering what we are looking at for the MMS fix? Is it still only working on Sprint? Any ideas where to start looking for the problem?

well been playing with the hyperkernel from blood, since im a real nood at this. ive gotten as far as extracting the boot.img down to the kernel.sin file. but for the life of me cant figure out how to edit any of the files i produce. this is giving me a whole new respect to the ppl that spend there personal time creating new roms and kernels

See the thing is it can't be turned down another notch at it's lowest setting lol. Now maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the sound wasn't distorted but that's a sure sign that the speaker can an probably will be damaged or blown. On another note I think the head phone issue you're having can be solved with the dsp app included with the ROM.

Adjust your dsp settings

Like I said before: Bloodawn= kernel god, TDM= ROM master. Lol. ( honorable mentions= |monster|, ndno, imfm, and craptorman). Without these guys our phones would've been at the bottom of the waste basket a long time ago.

I had to turn it all the way up then down a notch. Sorry should've mentioned that. Anyways that should do the trick

Anyone have any suggestions on/ or how to fix why my browser force closes when I hit the "4 square button" it was working?? I am using a different gapps that is not found in the forums on because it comes with better programs in my opinion but I don't think should really have anything to do with it , restored my "stock" working backup and still
Messed.... with force closes....:(

Have you tried any other browser just to help clarify if it's a browser issue or system issue?

where would i go to learn how to do what devs do i am pretty computer savvy but ive never really dove into linux or any programming at that matter

@K28: Hey man I've been trying like hell to find the Google Now zip you posted and the workaround you did to get it working. Any chance you can post it again? pleeese :)

Edit: Nevermind bro. I'm actually going to test Jellybean gaaps ported for ICS...If it works I'll post a thread with the link :)

Hey k28 I know you didn't mean it that way, and blood and tdm are incredible, but just wanted to say that |Monster| is honorable mention behind no one. He's been on this forum since day 1 and has answered more noob questions than the rest of us put together. He made the first custom rom for our phone, and he donated the phone to Bloodawn that gave us hyper-kernal and CTMod. He is still here every day helping noobs and devs. There is nobody here that comes close to giving to this community what |Monster| has, so no disrespect to you or anyone else but honorable mention doesn't even start to describe what he does. Please don't take this the wrong way, but your comments just made me think that some around here might not fully appreciate all that |Monster| has done for us.
