Root ICS/CM9-JB/CM10 Development Thread

Yeah I'm almost positive there is more than 1 bad string. It's not just the mmsc line

Ok, so here is the apns-conf.xml for CTMOD:
- <apns version="6"> - <!-- GW620 Eve setting Starts --> - <!-- GB O2 d - Pastebin.com

and here is ICS:
QuatICS APNSCONF - Pastebin.com

Oddly enough, the CT .xml doesn't even list boost as the carrier, but that was a hotfix i believe was done with an older version of CTMOD through the hidden menu.

Needless to say, CTMOD for Boost is a lengthy file, yet ICS is quite a bit shorter.

Thoughts?

EDIT: Having trouble finding the Hidden Menu on ICS. Anyone been able to access it?

So I work out in the boonies , where I get no service and when I was done with work I went up town where I get full service and somehow my phone locked in restricted not even no service with x, had to airplane mode it back to 3g not A huge deal just thought I would throw that out there

Also noticing, if you voice search "open APN" there is no apn listed. at all. this may be causing a problem

CyanogenMod doesn't have a hidden menu.

That would be a good reason why I can't find it.

Also, looking at this APN issue, I have written in the APN manually, however as soon as MCC or MNC values are modified, the APN will erase itself. Right now the built in values when adding an APN are 311 for the MCC and 870 for the MMC. From what I have found, Boost lists theirs as 310 and 00, respectively.

With the erasure happening, it is difficult to be able to write an APN with Boost settings..

Must be something in an .xml somewhere then.

make sure the config xml's in Mms.apk is matching CTMod's too and see if it works then.

So I found out that if you replace the apn.config with the stock one from CTMod for boost, mms and SMS works.

ok i have Alpha ics on my Lg Marguee(Boost) how do i get my MMS to work in full detail please and thank you :)...and how do i get my gmail to sync and google play store to work?

No still just attempts to send forever.

@tdm - Confirmed the installer fails on the assert for the Ignite. Installer works fine if I add the ignite in the assert.

Code:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "sniper" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "sniper" ||
       getprop("ro.product.device") == "marquee" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "marquee" ||
       getprop("ro.product.device") == "ignite" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "ignite");
Still haven't got a response from any other Ignite users in the Ignite thread.:confused: Can't believe I'm the only Ignite user out there interested in this.

Sorry didn't get the ignite assert in there, I'll do that next time, along with Amy confirmed fixes for mms.

Hey Bloodawn, I was just curious where you got the vibrate and haptic feedback diffs for the kernel?

I was able to download, but not send MMS picture messages after swapping out the apn.config.xml in /etc.

There is apns-conf.xml in both /etc and /system/etc.

Would it make a difference if you swapped both? I tried last night but I was unable to download, so you seem like you have made more progress than I did.

Either one. They actually lead to the same place. Look at all the files, they are the exact same. Just make sure you set the permissions correct.

FYI....

I'm not going to get a chance to do much more development until Monday, I have relatives in town.

I didn't get a chance to check in all the sources yet, too busy playing with aokp (see the other thread). I'll try to get that knocked out Monday.

Note I'm having some difficulty organizing sources between thunderc and sniper due to language configurations. The thunderc simply cannot accept anything more than EN and ES or it gets too large for the device. So I'll need to work out some way to conditionally add the LatinIME overlays. I'm thinking I'll need to split the vendor overlays into minimal and full, and put the FR/IT/DE overlays in the latter. That deviates from the vendor tree more than I'm really comfortable with, but I don't see much choice.
