Root ICS/CM9-JB/CM10 Development Thread

Alright after some further testing with the help of my patient wife, it looks like the phone mostly works. In a call she could hear me, but I couldn't hear her. It also defaulted to the speaker phone for me too.:)

Is there a fix for the phone? u know like using an app cause I want to keep using the rom but I can't be without the phone part...
Dude, it's a test ROM that he built like 12 hours ago. Give him a chance and I'm sure it will get fixed.

edit: my intended message is expressed much more elegantly and appropriatley in Lordvincent's post just below this one. Thanks.

The problem extends far beyond the 'wrong app being used' this is pre alpha... Be patient... At this stage it's not for the casual user... This is a release to further development and identify bugs... In time tdm will be able to make it usable.

Lol come on ppl I was just asking I'm new to this and just wanted to know, it never hurts to ask lol cause on the cm9 the mms only worked with a third-party app, but thanks for the answer guys....

I called my voicemail and it audio would cut out after a set length of time unless I kept toggling the speakerphone, and that seemed to reset the set amount of time before cutout. Not sure if that helps at all though.

.mms does work in cm9, you just have to do the steps yourself. Most likely the same fix maybe useful again for this one, haven't tried yet

I don't have a computer so I paid some dude at a cellphone store to root my phone and he did something where the model of the phone is lgsomething but the baseband starts with ls so on the cm9 thread somebody told me to use a third-party app for the mms to work that's why I said that before ;) now is there a way for me to change that baseband thing without a computer if anybody can help me I would really appreciate it cause every time I try to get that cm9 or this one it picks up the sprint one, thanks in advanced

Yes there is a way. Click this link and download the ZV4-Rooted-Boost.zip and flash it in CWM just like you were flashing any other ROM. BAM! You're are now running the ZV4 Boost baseband. :D

Please post any other questions or problems concerning the baseband in that thread.

If your changing the baseband to flash CM9 you don't have to. Check the quattrimus thread for instructions on the .install.prop for mismatched baseband.

Also, I believe it was determined that mms working with my fix was baseband dependant. I myself am a boost customer on the lszv9 baseband currently running aokp.

Is there any difference by changing it...

I am running the same except with zvc and adding the apns manually works for boost too

Is there a way to get the apns menu to open without having to use the voice search? That doesn't actually work yet on cm10, so until that happens you can't do the fix exactly like he does it

Try typing it in the desktop Google search bar and let me know.

edit: just tried. doesnt work yet/

You can try "apn settings shortcut" from the market.

No dice, looks like I'll have to wait for voice stuff to get fixed to try it.
When you downloaded it, how did you try to open it?

Once it's downloaded, if you long press on the home screen click add shortcut. Select apn settings. It should bring up a black screen that will flash and then you should see an apn icon on the home screen.

Click that, and from there you should be able to apply the fix.

Edit: just tested with cm9 and it works. Should be the same for cm10 if you follow these instructions
