ICS is here!!!!

I just finished installing ICS on my Transformer. Now I have both my phone (Galaxy Nexus) and tablet on ICS. Wow, the UI speed is incredibly faster than Honeycomb. very nice.

The only issue I am having is Google+ keeps force closing. In my apps under market, both Google+ and Google books are shown as "not installed" but they are actually installed. I guess Google+ that came with ICS crashed with Google+ that I had on Honeycomb. Does any one have similar issue?

Updated this morning but just got around to playing with it. I had the G+ issue until I updated the app. Haven't seen it since I did that this morning. I did have an odd boot loop thing going when I got home tonight and opened the tablet up. I have it docked into the keyboard and I had not turned the tablet off so not sure where that came from. I had to remove the tablet from the keyboard dock before it would stop looping and start up normally. My tablet still doesn't fully sleep when I close it as I'll get a GVoice notification not to long afterwards and they seem to just keep in rolling.

I loaded Chrome and it looks nice but haven't used it yet. I forgot that the handy settings and bookmarks thing that pops up in the regular browser won't happen in Chrome. Too bad, I actually use that a lot.

Being able to finally disable some of the apps like press reader and GBooks is nice. Not as nice as just being able to all out remove them but still nice. Which reminds me, I'm wondering what some of the extra apps that only show up in the app list in the settings menus are. Some of them look interesting. Will have to look them up later.

I was like another poster in that one of the first things I went looking for was the face unlock. Bummer that it isn't there. Would have been a fun toy.

I'll get to put the whole thing through a good workout this coming week on a business trip... as long as I don't experience that odd boot loop error again. If so, I won't be happy as I'll have to take my 17" laptop instead. Yikes!

I was having it, a few others have too. Clearing the Cache and Data of G+ sorted it for me.

I had that too, twice. It's annoying, but I'm glad it's not just me (sorry :o). Once a few more folk have the update and reported issues, I'll probably stick a "known issues" thread up and sticky it for a bit.

Overall though, the update has been a big success for me.

Going to Reboot, but in the 45mins to an hour it's been installed, I've had an error telling me Google+ has stopped about 4 times.

Any one else seeing that?

Update the app and wipe the app data, it took care of it for me

Chrome is much nicer though! The only downside I've seen to the beta so far is that my middle wheel doesn't scroll. It's not a major issue, but annoying none the less.

Is there a way to get Chrome to not show mobile sites? A couple are swapping to the mobile version on me, and I can't find the setting.

hmmm...AEPT1 has a front facing camera...but no face unlock as a security option? or am i not seeing this right? lol

edit: im a spaz....they removed it for the time being for tablets right? lol

I just came here to ask this as well.

yeah about chrome, wish i could import the default browser lot across lol

and yup the G+ issue was an update to the app and all was fine.

one big gripe that they removed from the browsers was remember in HC? you used to have this scroll bar on the right to quickly scroll up and down large pages? where the chuff is that now?? lol

i like the fact all the notifications can be shut in one massive swoop.

like the power widgets you get when opening up the notifications, keeps my home pages tidy hehe

initially i couldn't find how the hell you add widgets, none of this press and hold lark, have to go though apps then select the widgets tab, so thats changed :)

Eris, G+ didn't show as having any updates for me initially, sorted now though, cheers.

No as far as I'm aware, there's no way of changing the user agent. I'll have a mess about today though.

FLD, if you haven't already, do a reboot or two.
If that doesn't work then you may have to do the dreaded factory reset. I haven't had a chance to REALLY play with mine yet (damned work), but it's been very stable for me. After it finished auto-downloading my apps I rebooted, just because that what I always do with a new ROM.
BTW, I wouldn't expect it to make a difference, but I didn't get the update via OTA because I had CWM installed. Instead I flashed one of the stock ROMs that got created this morning.

I did 'Option B' from this site, for those of you who might be looking for a ROM.
[ROM] ICS - CWM flashable - xda-developers

Update: after about 30 reboots and using it while driving around, the GPS is back to being its reliable self. As to the Google+ thing.. I noticed you can now disable apps in the settings. That took care of any error messages but the app disappears from the app drawer and the list of apps in settings. Haven't found how to enable it yet.. So I'd be careful about disabling apps. Luckily I don't use Google+ or any of that kind of social network stuff

Here's a problem: when playing video in a website it won't go to full screen when pressing the full screen button. If it does, it just goes to a white screen and locks the browser. Tried in dolphin, stock browser and ICS browser+. Anyone else?

Maybe this is a dumb question, but where are you all obtining the ICS update from?
I have not seen anything on the ASUS website, and have no OTA notifications on my TF101...

While connected to wifi, go to settings>about device>system update>check update

So far, I'm liking what I see. But there is one tiny little thing that disappeared.
There used to be a "+" in the top right corner of the screen. This could be used to move from desktop to desktop without needing to swipe the screen. I usually use the docking station on my TF, and was very fond of this. Is there an equivalent in ICS? Or some way I can get this back?

very happy with ICS so far, but in the stock browser how do I add a bookmark? I just can't see how to do it.

I've tried Chrome and while it looks great, you can't use the onscreen controls like you can in the stock one and of course, crucially, there is no flash support yet.

On the whole though I feel like I've got a new tablet, I love the new wallpapers, live and static, love the new gallery look too. That said, when you edit an image the edited version goes into a new folder, I want to simply edit and image and overwrite it with the cleaned up one, ie red eye etc.

Roboto is a gorgeous font, soooo clean and sharp. Once ICS spreads to phones and becomes the standard OS, Android will have a lot to shout about.

I upgraded mine last night to get Chrome. It's OK. One thing I do not like is that there does not appear to be a way to force the website to use the desktop version. The stock browser has this option.

Confirmed, happened to me twice today, once in ICS Browser + and once in stock.

Yep, I have this issue as well. Don't know if it is an ICS or a flash problem. Hopefully will be sorted soon.

Straw that broke the camel's back.

ASUS Transformer put up for sale today, and I'll be replacing it with an iPad3 if I get another tablet.

I'm off the android merry-go-round.

I may have bought Viber's TF. The guy I bought mine from was ranting about Android and how he now has an iPhone.

I just nodded my head, gave him $270 and Left with my Prize.

Just think, only a week later and I have ICS.
I thought the TF was great with HC, but now it flies with ICS.

lol well if it is, fair plays to the guy, android is not for all, and still has its oddities that may peeve some off, but in regards to Asus in general, they have actually been the best for releasing updates to their devices (compared to the missus Sammy GS2 and my DHD)
