Root I'm back!

I came back to the v. The best phone I've had in my tests! Now I've noticed from manager works :D. Is it save to do the entire recovery/from process thru it I plan to use backside of course

The whole reason I took the time and trouble to write the thread on ROM Manager was all the members that were trying to do things with it that they had no understanding of and messing up there phones.
Along the way I discovered all the cool time saving things that could be done with it if you paid for the premium license. The free version doesn't allow you to do to much, and that's only if you have 2.2.1 phone

I wish everyone would just stop posting about ROM Manager in Optimus V forums. It bricked hundreds of phones in the past, and still has the potential to brick newer ones. You get zero support from the dev, he blames all issues on those who upgrade manifests, so why pay for it?

Welcome back cammykool! ;)

ill take my orders from this guy :P i allready used it to flash CWM 3.2.0.1 is this gonna support backside?

Welcome back cammykool! ;)
I guess this answers my pm.
Sorry JerryScript.
If someone has OS version 2.2.1 it will do everything I described in my thread, flawlessly.
If they have version 2.2.2. THEY MUST NEVER USE IT.
All the problems members were having (with the exception of installing the recovery and then going right to the boot into recovery option) were because they didn't know how to properly use the options.

My thread is absolutely necessary. If a member is informed of what they can't do with it,as well as what they can and how to properly do it ; they can not possibly brick their phone. If on the other hand we just tell them they shouldn't have used it, after they have messed up their phone, then we are forcing them to learn from their mistakes. No matter how hard you want members to stop using ROM Manager they will continue to do so. The only question is weather or not they use in total ignorance and mess up their phone, or use it having knowledge of what it can and cannot do.

Yeah, my pref would be to have a single RM thread that started with a post with huge letters saying DONT USE ON OPTIMUS V, then had a second post with instructions on how to fix your phone if RM messed it up, then nothing else.

New Year's Resolution, stop ranting about RM, I'll never get the 120 hours I spent helping others out after it messed up their phones, no use beating a dead horse. ;)

The problem is when you go to flash the ROM if you have an S screen which 90+% of the 2.2.2 versions have. Please go here and read https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/android_device_lge_thunderc/wiki/Binary and here [FIX]Black screen with custom recovery and custom roms - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com. The ROM's in ROM Manager were not authorized to be there by the devs of said ROM's. The only way to safely install any of the ROM's in ROM Manager is to follow my thread http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-all-things-root/419080-truth-about-rom-manager.html this means you will have to pay for the premium version. Or do it through your recovery for free.

EDIT:Sorry, I almost forgot, welcome back.

Welcome back. Thought the jokes from your review ran you off. Glad that wasn't the case it was just fun and I felt bad about it.

Can we change the sticky thread title to 'DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER WITH 2.2.2 V'? Welcome back Cammy. Clean your room. And nice to see AndyOpie back in the all things root section. You were a big help when I first rooted.

oh shut up :P i did my berst on that video,... and like i said i JUST used rom manager on 2.2.2 to flash cwm recovery

I am limited in what advice I can give, and in what situation. I'll try my best though to keep the members(especially the new one's) from heading in a wrong direction.
Cammykool, it's totally up to you, but in my opionion( based on helping quite a few member's with the new OS) just because you were able to flash CWMod recovery from ROM Manager doesn't mean you don't have an "S" screen. You will know for sure though when and if you flash the ROM. If it were me I would flash one of the recovery's Designed for 2.2.2 from here https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/android_device_lge_thunderc/wiki/Binary over the CWMod recovery or you might have to fix a black screen.
I'm not saying you do have an "S" screen, but the only way to find out is the hard way.

so i shouldnt flash backside? cwm is working just fine i did a factory data reset nandroid works its all working... but i still shouldnt

No. It is not submitted by Jerry, not official, out of date, and can be tweaked to have spyware since it is submitted by an unknown person.

What benslgdroid said^
I remember being pretty hard headed growing up and having to learn things the hard way. I would not wish having to go thru all that on anybody.
