Root I'm ready to get dirty...

you have to install all 3 files of the gb FIRST, and IN ORDER! you must wipe data and cache before installing them, the first one takes a while, second not that long, third is quick then you reboot the phone and load GB, once your apps reinstall, you then go into droid 2 bootstrapper, hit bootstrap recovery, allow access, hit ok then reboot recovery, wipe data and cache and then install the .588, reboot, and do the same thing with .595


you now have to sbf back to stock, doesnt take long just 10-15 mins
 
I'm in RSD lite and it's going through the motions...

See I installed all 3 parts of 588. Then while still in bootstrapper I wiped again, then installed 595. It didn't make sense to me why I'd do that.

So I have to run 588 first, let it do everything, THEN go into bootstrapper and wipe, then install 595.
 
Does the Interface DP Loading RAM to Bootloader take a little while when doing sbf? It's hanging on 99%

its actually nearly impossible to perma brick these phones...the only mistake you made was going straight to .595 without booting up .588....its no big deal at all...you will get back to .340 with the SBF and be on .595 in no time...
 
he is good to go. he got everything setup but since that happened he is going to take a it kinda easy.

hopefully he knows mistakes happen and that shouldnt discourage him from trying out different things :)

Really! Did not know this. I purchased DROID bootstrap long time and then purchased D2 bootstrap when everyone said that you had to have it for GB. Didn't know D2 was free after DROID bootstrap purchase.
 
in all honesty you dont need the d2 bootstrap im running liberty .595 and did it all through dx bootstrap:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:p:p:p:p:cool::cool::cool::cool:

yeah bouchigo knows about the usb debugging thing, i can never remember lol but it does allow you to continue to use dx bootstrapper, which is what i prefer since i bought it :p

+1 :p thinking the same way i did i was like f*** i just bought dx bootstrap now i have to buy d2 bootstrap hehe kinda why i waited so long to switch to gb until i finally said screw it whats the worst can happen i brick it (wouldve been like the 9th time lol) and then i sbf back and stick with froyo lol and it worked so i was like YAY!!! :):D:D:D
 
d2 bootstrapper and dx bootstrapper can be obtained free lol, just go to koush website, but its best to buy the dx bootstrapper from the market just because we should all respect the devs who do this for us

when i tried it i was strapped for money so i figured i would be stuck on froyo but i wouldve bought the d2 bootstrap to just because i love the work jrummy does i just installed liberty on my wife dx shes still on froyo wont let me put gb on it yet because its still so new to her lol and im running liberty gb v.5 on my dx
