Just move to Sprint. If my company didn't pay for my plan I'd dump VZW in a heartbeat. WAY too expensive.

I've looked into switching. Sprint is no cheaper... Not when you add in all the extra Voice\Text plan I would have to get in order to make up for all the Verizon Mobil to Mobil due to 90% of my family being Verizon customers. Not to mention Sprint has no coverage where I go in northern WI to my land.

What? Sprint has unlimited mobile to mobile on ANY CARRIER. Unlimited data and unlimited text. $80.

The lack of coverage would be a killer for me but doesn't Sprint roam on VZW networks at no extra charge?

All I know is that I'm going to keep my unlimited data, and by June 22nd I'm going to know what phone I'm going to get.

exactly right... i've been on Verizon for 16 years. I'm going to know exactly what I'm getting the 22nd... and even if i didn't i 100% will be keeping my data.

Just to make sure I'm clear on this: I have 3 lines - 1 unlimited data, 1 2G data, and 1 dumb phone. The unlimited and dumb phone lines are eligible for an upgrade. I will be able to get a new phone after June 28 using the dumb line's upgrade but activate it on the unlimited line without losing unlimited? And the new $30 data fee will go away? When I get the phone and start the activation process, is there anything special that has to be done to make this happen?

Well, I just decided to pre-order the GSIII to ensure keeping my unlimited data since we have no news on the Inc4 (and I don't want to wait longer to get the phone since there have already been a lot of pre-orders). The CSR confirmed my plan will not change and I already paid for the device (and the stupid $30 upgrade fee). She also noted it in my account...

An interesting note though was that she told me they were receiving training on the Inc 4G next week, but she hadn't heard anything about release date.

Ya, $80 for a single person. I have my wife and I. With my Verizon Plan I currently pay after all the fees and taxes $104 for my wife and I and my plan covers everything I need. I know unless you have Verizon by my land up north you get NO cell coverage.

Isnt training usually a week before release? If so they might release it on the 28th to celebrate the shared data plans that VZW is so proud of.

Or they could have training the week of release... but from what ive heard its usually a week or two before launch.

Well after what the Telesales person told me, I'll be using my last upgrade on the 22nd as well. Probably go with the SGS3, or if they're out of stock the Razr Maxx. From what I've seen, both have better resale than the other 4G phones. Going strictly by resale, the i*hone would be the highest resale, but I don't want to possibly muck something up on my unlimited data going from a 4G to a 3G, & then back to a 4G.

So what do you guys think, do the SGS3 & Maxx have the best resale value of the phones on Verizon? Or should I consider another phone? This is strictly for resale. When calling Verizon today I ended up hanging up on the call once when reaching my thumb over to hide the dial pad on my 4.3" Rezound, so I think I need to go back to a 4" screen.

The only reason I would keep the SGS3 would be to use it only for media playback & web browsing so I don't run down my primary phone, but that seems like a waste.

This is in line with my GSIII preorder email confirmation which clearly indicates my contract renews unlimited email & web for $29.99/mo.

Hey, don't we have 14 days to switch phones? If we don't like it? SGIII on the 28th or 1st, Inc4g by July 12th?

or any phone not just the SGIII

or does it not work that way?

Under normal circumstances you are definitely correct. But I believe when you switch phones in your 14 day trial, you return the phone & sign a new contract with the second phone. Since that would be after the 28th, you'd then be subject to the data share plans. I may call Telesales to confirm. The thing is I should be able to sell either phone for the same or more than retail price of the Incredible 4G. Either way, if they release the Inc4g after the 28th, it's still cheaper than forgoing my subsidized upgrade & buying the Inc4g retail.

If I find out anything from Telesales I'll post it here.

EDIT: Talked to a Telesales supervisor, & he confirmed that as long as you go right to another phone, you don't sign a new contract & keep your unlimited data. If you return the phone, & wait awhile before selecting another phone, you'd have to sign a new contract. I still may wait until the 22nd to see if the Inc4g drops on the 21st.

The more I look over this "Share Everything" plan, the more it's apparent that it benefits those who are on capped data plans, and punishes those on unlimited data or who have discounts tied to their current data plans (which both apply to my situation).

Yep, same here. Not a good value for me with my current usage. It's also really good for people with a phone and a tablet though. I may actually consider a data tablet in the future if I were on this plan.

you always (or usually always) have your phone? root and teether?

How about this one:

I'm eligible for an upgrade and want the Inc4G but will get theSG3 if I have to in order to keep the unlimited data. Problem is, the account and primary line is in my wife's name. When she upgrades in a few months or a year, will our whole plan (my line included) be put on the tiered data plan?

That is correct. Is she on a 4G device now? If not you can probably upgrade her early before the plans go into effect.

The only problem with that is I read ( I believe on Droid life ) that after the Share Everything plans go into effect, they won't be subsidizing tablets anymore. I remember them saying that unless tablet retail prices drop from where they are now, who's gonna pay $900 for a Xyboard. So they appear to be spreading around the dry screwing wider than first thought.

The way I understand it is, the new Share Everything shared data plans are totally optional. When you upgrade your phone, even after June 28, you may choose to stay on your current plan and not change to the new data share plans. The only change is that you cannot keep your unlimited data if you use your upgrade and would have to select one of the current tiered data plans (2G for $30, for example).

I'm pretty sure though, if one line on a family plan changes to the new Share Everything family plans, then the whole account will also change. But, again, you can keep things exactly as they are now, except for the unlimited data. And that will only go away if the line that has the unlimited data upgrades to a new subsidized phone.

She will if she doesn't upgrade at full retail. After the 28th, to keep your unlimited you have to either pay full retail through Verizon, Amazon, Best Buy, etc., or buy phones used off eBay, craigslist, etc.

That bit about the "one line uses a subsidy and the rest of the lines are moved to shared data" is how it was explained to me. So I'll make damn sure the other people on my plan go through me if they want/need a new phone.

I'm in the same boat. I (and my wife) have been eligible to upgrade since 05/20/2012. I have been holding out for the inc4g but I do not want to get screwed on my unlimited data.

This is the exact same thing I was told. If I went to a Shared Plan and 2Gig Data, it would cost me $25 more\month then it does now. I won't be going to those plans.
