Root [International] Danvdh ROMs

Dan is surely too busy to read this thread on our humble AF.

There probably was some other irritable decrepit octogenarian with an overwhelming odor of rum and coke on his vest that complained....our rusty bum is not one to quibble.

Dan is surely too busy to read this thread on our humble AF.

Now, I wonder who could have grassed me up:questionmark: :hmmmm:

Some dude on some other board was complaining that Standard Edition was too confusing,

"Some dude"!!! Cheeky young rapscallion! ;)

I agree with him. I've renamed it to Customized Edition to avoid confusion in the OP

apparently he drinks Bacardi and coke, I like that stuff too, but only if there is a lime...

The vitamin C in lime would kill me. However, I'll let the lad buy me a drink to show there's no hard feelings.

So, there you have it...

Customised Edition is exactly what it says and...

Pure Nexus Edition is exactly what it says.

Hope that clears up any ambiguities. Nice one Danvdh!

Having allegedly resolved the issue of the h+ symbol, I'm now finding my data symbol in status bar stuck continuously on E. Anyone else?

Oops wrong thread, have asked mods to move....

No problems here old thing. Might be worth checking the Vodafone network to see if there are any problems. I don't know whereabouts you are in Yorkshire but there are some coverage problems in the Pudsey area, near Bradford, among others.

The clue is in the location....Yorkshire.
Its still half-G up there Syd.
You need to buy a phone that is compatible with your area:

AHEM! I'll have you know 4G (LTE) has been pretty much universal within a five mile radius of a Yorkshire city, Sheffield.

I wonder if 4G is available in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch? Probably not.

wow this ROM is pretty good, seems like the dev knows what he's doing

Hello and welcome to Android Forums Danfromcanada! :)

He certainly does know what he's doing. This latest Android 4.4.3 offering is both slick and smooth with great performance and battery life. One of the bonuses is that the developer, Danvdh, does not plaster his name and logos all over it preferring, instead, to let his work speak for itself.

There are a couple of reasons you should try this ROM...

1. Your name is Dan and so is his!

2. You are from Canada and so is he!

Coincidence or what?

(I'm being thick aren't I? :hmmmm: )

It's great to see you on here dan.
Make sure you pop in from time to time. It's much more relaxed on here compared to xda, mainly because most of us are thick as shite!
:D

Now we have a Canadian on here, is it with mentioning Saturday's rugby score?

Actually having watched the match, forget I said anything :-(

Welcome aboard Dan, keep up the good work thanks :-)

Being a welshman, hawker is indeed thick as pig shit

Luckily for him, he has the support of intelligent, patient, witty, good-looking, skillful, helpful android experts who guide him through his mistakes and eventually get him on the right path.

I've got that the right way round, havent I??

That's not the part of my body to which I usually attach a sheep Syd!
Back legs down my wellies, and I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
:D

Sorry Hawker but your so wrong anyone with common sense knows its on their back so you get a good snog too, with or without Ironass's special blend of WD40 and Rohypnol.

Minor update should be coming out soon folks.
I pointed out to Dan a commit in CM that improves the brightness curve which I compiled into framework-res, and we both agree this improves the way the screen brightness adjusts to current light levels a great deal.

So much so, I've even disabled the GravityBox screen brightness function.

If you're not using XPosed at all, then this will definitely be worth a flash.
If you are using Xposed and letting GB handle screen brightness, then I still recommend you disable GB auto-brightness and flash it, and see how it goes. If you prefer GB, then just re-enable it again.

A full wipe is always recommended Syd, but yes, dirty wipe should be fine.

If you're not into full wiping (believe me, once you start, its hard to get out of the full wipe habit) then a general rule of thumb is, full wipe on a firmware/build number change.
If the firmware version/build number is the same, then dirty flash will probably be ok. If it isnt, then full wipe and try again.

I always used to dirty flash Dan's GPE ROMs and never once encountered any issues, as basically, the build number has always been the same. New releases were tweaks and enhancements made by Dan.
The only build number change so far has been from KOT49H (4.4.2) to the current version KTU84L (4.4.3), so generally a dirty flash of Dan's releases should always be ok, but not recommended, as possible bugs may be caused due to dirty flashing (but unlikely).

UPDATE OUT

06/18/2014
*Use the updated DarkUI flash zip if you use this feature*
Updated Superuser to the much awaited 2.0
Updated build.prop to reflect today's date without branding the ROM
Updated to the new CM autobrightness
this Gerrit Code Review has been tested by me and provides much better autobrightness

this will help battery life a great deal :) as you can see here, it's well tested by the guys at CM, they have been working on perfecting autobrightness for well over a month now for this device, I'm very happy with the results of these changes
