Root Is 4g lost?

Well the stock roms suck, IMO. I would rather keep 3g and CyanogenMod than stock with 4g. I suppose i will just have to patient and wait for a stable 4g supporting rom?

There are already many ROMs with 4G support. They are all sense based. Example would be Myns Warm 2.2. That is a sense ROM that has 4G working. All sense ROMs "should" have 4G working, unless otherwise noted.

have you tried mikfroyo 4.5 or kings ultra froyo unleashed. these two are my favorite roms. they are super small and thus leaving a lot of internal memory. they are very stable, smooth, and fast. the even stock kernel works well with them. try flashing some roms and themes and see if you like them.

also if you do not like sense roms, try miui. it is an aosp rom so no 4g. i tried it out for a few days. it is nice and stable. it was to iphone'ish for me and i was so used to sense roms, that i just could not get comfortable with it.

Right, well, if you have a nandroid backup of a ROM where 4g worked, and you used RA (and chose the option backup wimax) or Clockwork (2.6.0.1 or up), then you can restore that nandroid backup. If you've lost 4g for good, though, as detailed above, and don't have a nandroid backup that includes your wimax keys, then you'd need to bring your phone in. I assume that is the case you are asking about. In that case, you'd need to unroot. There are instructions in the Rooting for Dummies sticky under the After Rooting section. If you rooted with unrevoked, you need to flash the S-ON tool to change S-OFF to S-ON. From there, you *could* run a RUU from your computer, but the preferred method is to use a PC36IMG.zip file. It's just a file you flash from hboot that is used to flash img files to whatever partition you want. In this case, the PC36IMG.zip file must contain all the img file contents of a full RUU. It will basically fully unroot your phone (once you have S-ON already, of course).

Why is it your opinion that the stock roms suck?

And by stock I assume you mean sense based. I take it you dont like your phone to be fully functional as intended and dont care for the usefule widgets it includes? What sense roms have you tried? Flash one...you might like it. If you dont like the launcher on the sense rom change your launcher then, at least it will be fully functional. You can use other launchers, hell you can load 8 of them if you want.

No offense to CM lovers out there but I just dont get it...and yes i have flashed 6 and 7...people are doing great things with sense roms like mik, koni, myn, and king etc....guess i just have trouble getting on the bandwagon of broken functionality...

LOL. I am relaxed Haha. Guess it came out wrong. I'm trying to find out what you didnt like about sense because a lot of that can be changed and still provided your functionality. What sense Roms have you tried and what didnt you like? Just saying we might find you a happy medium.

For the record though I still really dont get CM? Can anyone tell me what it does that sense roms do not that make it worth losing some of my phones functionality? Should probably be a new thread i guess...there are so many people using CM that maybe i dont get something that it does that my sense roms cant...? Seriously thats a real question I have. I flashed CM but immediately didnt care for it and didnt tinker for more than a day with it.

LOL! It's all good, dude. I used RUU SuperSonic 3.29.651.5 OTA Rooted Deodexed. I used this only to get my phone to stock so I could get connection to sprint. Currently, I'm downloading Kings Ultra FroYo UNleashed. Let's see how this one is! Anyone have any screen shots?

Haha i remember you! your phone came with CM on it and you needed to get it back to stock so your epst would work so you could activate it! AKAZABAM sent you to a very stock rom to do this and then go back...good stuff. Glad it worked for you.

Im actually using Kings right now...hang on and I'll throw up a screen shot or two if i can...not sure i have the driver on this computer...

OK it took some work but here are a few screen shots...kings has muliptle themes you can flash, also clocks and scripts and other things can be flashed. mine is just how it comes stock except my clock widget is a blue one.

Yeh, when I first had to do all the fancy Android stuff my first day, it was pretty overwhelming. I thank all of you guys for helping out :) For some reason the Kings Ultra won't download. Is there another link to the ROM?

I can get it to you but I cant till I get off of work in an hour. GE blocks Xda :(. Anyhow, if youre in a hurry, go to the xda forum and try searching kings ultra unleashed, should pull up his thread and the download should be in the first post.
