Brand new, haven't even had the Ally for 2 hours yet. Upgrading from a palm Pixi Plus.

I found this to see if the Ally had gingerbread. Being I haven't seen it anywhere else like here (seems to have the biggest community) I have my doubts.

EDIT: Link pulled due to its worthlessness.

What are the risk trying this? Can I brick my new toy or try it because there's always a recovery option?

If this is garbage, I'll pull the link next time I'm on so no one gets bit.

Hmm I haven't heard of this before. I'm leaning towards too good to be true if none of our awesome ROM developers here have said they are working on anything Gingerbread-wise for us, but I suppose anything is possible. I certainly won't be the first one to try installing it. :P

This has to be too good to be true, even though i don't have an ally anymore i'll just dig in the zip cause im bored.

Now i'm no developer (publicly anyways) butttt the following lines are in the build.prop

Code:
# begin build properties
# autogenerated by buildinfo.sh
ro.build.id=HONEYCOMB
ro.build.display.id=sdk-eng 3.0 HONEYCOMB 104254 test-keys
ro.build.version.sdk=11
ro.build.version.codename=REL
ro.build.version.release=3.0
ro.build.date=Wed Feb 16 19:26:18 PST 2011
ro.product.model=Nexus S
ro.product.brand=google
ro.product.manufacturer=Samsung
ro.build.description=sdk-eng 3.0 HONEYCOMB 104254 test-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=generic/sdk/generic:3.0/HONEYCOMB/104254:eng/test-keys

# Honeycomb SDK for Nexus S
ro.sf.widthpixels=480
ro.sf.heightpixels=800
ro.sf.lcd_density.xdpi=254
ro.sf.lcd_density.ydpi=254
ro.sf.lcd_density = 120
Theres even a section that says "#system.prop for generic sdk"

Seem's like an Honeycomb SDK port for the Nexus S
That alone leads me to believe its fake, but i'll wait for others to chime in

One word: LIIIIIIEEEEESSSSS
It's Android 2.2.2, not 2.3.x
Once again: LIIIIIIEEEEEESSSSSSSSS

Thank you.

Oh, its android 3.0, from a nexus S, says the build.prop, will leave your phone unbootable, and bricked if you do other dumb stuff too.
