Root Justice Rom Out!

Boy, that's clear as mud to me. The video works. ... but does it REALLY work? Can I get my full 780p? I guess I have to try it to see.

Sorry Steven. I have to do this to you....lol.

the term "720" is used to convey an actual resolution of 1366X768. For whatever reason T.V manufacturers thought "720p" sounded better than 768p.

Now that we have that cleared up. hehe. Is there any word on when SSX will be complete? I really want to try that rom.

No one answered if all you can get hd video... I'd use numbers, but you guys are all anal about it. :p

Wrong. 720p is 1280x720. Yes, smaller HDTV's have a max resolution of 1366x768.. but it's the VIDEO feed that's either 720p or 1080p.

No. It's not wrong. It's how it started. I never said resolutions haven't changed and terminology switched around.....:D

wrong you are looking at televisions that have a native resolution of 1366x768 that display 720p and assuming that 720p or 720=1366x768. Wikipedia quote:

"720p is the shorthand name for a category of HDTV video modes having a resolution of 1280

Back on topic, please? (I know you can point your fingers at me and call me the biggest off topic post whore of all time and call me a hypocrite, but it's my job. :p)

Right. Which means the T.V has a native resolution of 1366X768. Which when these T.V's first came out they decided to use the term "720" because it sounded better than "768"

Sigh. They are/were marketed as 720p because that is the type of HD content they are intended for (ie sports broadcasts). You realize some HDTVs have the resolution of 1024x768, right? So.. if "the term "720" is used to convey an actual resolution of 1366X768," then what does "720" mean for those with the resolution 1024x768?

Sorry, Steven, this topic will still go back on topic :] (Hypocrisy if these posts get deleted!)

Cougar...you should drop this one...cuz you're wrong...

720p = 1280x720 always has...always will...

Yes the VAST majority of "720p" TVs are not actually native 720p panels...but they are generally marketed as 720p/1080i sets because those are the resolutions they accept...and properly handle

Hey don't blame me man. It's what the article said that I read many years ago. If it's wrong then shoot them.....lol...All I'm conveying here is third party info that is years old.

Now stop picking on me dammit......lmao......:p

But lets get this thread back on topic. Having the ability to shoot video in 720 was a selling point for me when I bought this phone. If any given Rom can't, for whatever reason, support this feature than it's a bust for me. I'm waiting for SSX to be complete. Hopefully this isn't a problem with that Rom.
