Root [Kernel][1-15-12]Blitzkrieg Kernel 2.0 w/HDMI

Exactly my point. That's why I can't help but think that my phone has a bug in it's SD mounting. When the Recovery screen blinked (and everything "popped" up), the new kernel then showed up on both InSD and ExSD afterwards.
What else could it be?
Any ideas?

*Edit*~
Sorry - I don't mean to steer the thread off topic.
I'll start a new thread on the card mounting issue so others can chime in if they have that problem, and then come back and delete my posts here so it doesn't confuse others.
:o

back when i was doing work with the G1 i noticed a lot of time people's sd cards were not fat32 or just had to be reformatted anyway, so try that.. backup your files than format sd card (FAT32) than place files back on and blah blah blah

Still reboots at 1.8 GHz (with Plague I can go to 1.9 GHz stable). Will set at 1.7 GHz and have it running all day at that settings. Will post in the night.

on PG's Kernel farthest i went was 1.9, on this one i could go @ 1.8 w/benchmark numbers @ 4362. very satisfied with it. oh min-368 high 1804
left it at on-demand

Plague kernel seems to be more stable, I don't like to go by benchmark but with this kernel I couldn't get over 3700, with the plague I got to 4300+

because of the volting management. since PG's ones are well balanced in terms of volts and power it stabilizes the clock speed. at least in my point of view.

Okay... I flashed the new 2.1 kernel, and it's stable on my phone at 1.8MHz (on Antutu anyway)
My CPU just doesn't like to go any higher than that apparently. It locks up and freezes at 2.0GHz.
Overall, I'm very happy to have at least a stable 1.5MHz AND HDMI working. lol
Thanks again mt!

Thats funny, the first one actually had the same exact voltages and power as pg's lol. I had forgotten I changed them one time and the first was not undervolted at all. 2.1 is undervolted from 128k-500k, and from 900k-1.3ghz then 1.8-2.1ghz is overvolted.

well, your 2.0ghz kinda burned less battery for me than the 2.0ghz from PG. that's, but overall you don't notice the difference until you do some benchmarks. idk.!!!

EDIT; NVM, the new 2.1ghz works best now and get satisfactory scores. thanks !

When i was on PG's kernel i used setcpu to over clock 2ghz and never saw it reboot on me. I just installed Blitz and i set it again to 2ghz and i havent seen it reboot. So when you guys say it reboots do you mean as soon as you set it in setcpu it instantly reboots or does it do it later like when your in the middle of a call or game or task?

Mine reboots immediately after setting it with se:(tcpu.

k not sure if it just me or my rom.... but the 2.1 has consistant reboots without even moving the cpu sliders... but it could be just me...

ive installed this rom last night, wiped cache and davlik this morning. i actually disabled any overclocking in an attempt to elicit some stability from my phone, which has started random rebooting ever since i installed gingersteem extreme. so far its running really well..

very excited about it, and cant wait to put a week or 2 on it to see if it resolves my stability issues.

So which ROM are you currently using?

currently on gingersteem extreme:) i sure hope it is more stable because i really like the rom alot. if its not stable still, i might just go to ZVC and see how that works. if that sucks ill go back to zvb or back to extreem :)

So we are looking at UV from .1-.5, then another class of UV from .9-1.3, then OV from 1.8-2.0? Am curious as to if this kernel is on par with PG for 1.4 as far as power efficiency goes.

Flashing 2.1 on ZVB over the Gingersteem ROM shows the phone as being soft rooted and NOT hard rooted.

Gonna try 2.0 and see if it does the same thing.

Replaced boot.img with the plague kernel's boot.img and everything was good.

when will the update be up just asking

^ +1
No disrespect towards mt... just curious. I LOVE this ROM and kernel, but it has minor issues (and I mean VERY minor) that I'd like to see corrected - when that happens, this will be THE best ROM and kernel out there for the Esteem, hands down. There are a few here that are awesome as well, but this one has serious potential like no other, IMHO. (like I said - "IMHO"... to each their own. lol)
;)

I know this sounds like a totally noob question, but HOW do you "install it" from the sd card. I downloaded it, and there is no"install" option, and only a bunch of folders and files when I extract it on the sd card.

can anyone straighten me out?

Thanks!

PM

As per the OP;

1.) Download the .zip & make sure 4g is enabled.
2.) Place zip in external sdcard
3.) Back up (i.e. CWM)
4.) Go to install zip from sdcard (in CWM options list)
5.) Select BlitzkriegEsteem2.0.zip
6.) Reboot!

Make sense? :)
