How's the new kernel running on CTmod? Any freezing or stability issues?
I don't know how's on CTmod, but in CM10 is the best thing ever!
not a single lag or freeze or reboot, amazing work on this one.
the kernel devs have started to squash
the entropy bug in kernels, what about here?
I'm not convinced there is an entropy bug. But if we need more entropy, it should be easy to get.
Elnareen says:
- LWN published an article one month ago on why this is a very bad idea (essentially, it makes the kernel thinks that he has entropy he has not, more explanations in the full article there: https://lwn.net/Articles/525459/)
- You can do it without even running some cron regurlarly, and that's why that's an even worse trap for the system administrator in Linux in general (quoted from the same article):
Quote: Administrator recommendations
"You really, really want to run rngd", Peter said. It should be started as early as possible during system boot-up, so that the applications have early access to the randomness that it provides.
One thing you should not do is the following:
rngd -r /dev/urandom
Peter noted that he had seen this command in several places on the web. Its effect is to connect the output of the kernel's RNG back into itself, fooling the kernel into believing it has an endless supply of entropy.
This is exactly what this application does, and a text book example of what should never be done

Hey tdm are you following the tread from the google devs? they have a really interesting point on the last 10 posts with the input_event() in drivers/input/input.c
what exactly is this kernal used for? is this just another rom like CtMoD? not really understanding kernals
Hey blood, I was wondering if there is a way to enable zRam on the HyperKernel version with the GPU overclock (Hyper2.2 I think it).
Thanks in advance bro.
you should be able to enable it the same way. I've had zram in the kernel since 2.0 I think.
Yeah, the only tweak in v.2 is the ability to enable or disable fsync. At least that's the only one I saw.
I got bored so I'm working on completely redoing the kernel. gonna be changing a little bit at a time and uploading each build after a main change for you guys to test if you want.
it will probably start with just a stock kernel patched to .14, then add OC shit and keep going till its fully stable, smooth kernel.
so if any of you guys want to try them out keep a eye on this thread and I'll posting the test kernels as they come.

I believe you are going to have a few takers!...... so if any of you guys want to try them out keep a eye on this thread and I'll posting the test kernels as they come.
