You can always clear the dalvik in CWM under Advanced or you can use Titanium too. I prefer CWM.:D

I just delete all the files and folders under /data/dalvik-cache.
Titanium probably does the exact same thing
CWM will too, but only if you're using SSM without a /data/dalvik-cache partition on your SD-card

I can use root explorer and then go to data and then to delvik cache and erase everything? On a reboot it will all rebuild itself? Is this the process I should use?
I'm running the ssm with 2 partitions.

One more question, had a ton of force closes on my wife's phone. Wiped cache and dalvik then fixed permissions. Caused a whole world of problems with SSM. Was able to switch to data and reboot but nothing would mount properly anymore. Why did it freak out?

Kouma, I went to data and deleted the Dalvik cache folder earlier today so it would be rebuit . After rebooting, everything started force closing. I couldn't even get a CWM backup to restore. I ended up using Odin to fix it (lol). I'm using the SSM with 3 partitions also. Any idea what could have caused this? Wasn't this the correct way to clear the Dalvik while running the SSM with 3 partitions?

I have had serious issues trying to switch from SSM to data with stuff installed on the phone, ended up having to re-flash the rom, switch koumamod to data, then reboot and reinstall apps. I'm pretty sure the koumamod settings shouldn't be tampered with beyond the initial boot after flashing.

You confused me, i was wondering how you did a triple partition...I think you mean SD-card, SD-ext, and SD-swap? If so, then kouma said earlier the best way was to manually delete the files and folders under /data/dalvik-cache.

Yeah, when in ADB you actually make 3 partitions. Also, I reworded my post for you and changed wiped to deleted. I did what Kouma said to do. How did you misunderstand that? Doesn't wiped mean deleted lol ? :D :p

how did you delete the files in dalvik-cache?

I've always used a terminal to "rm -rf /data/dalvik-cache/*"
if you delete the folder itself, I'm not sure what would happen. The folder has to exist for SSM to mount the partition

In the past before running the SSM, I would delete the entire folder and it would rebuild itself. Lol, I found out the hard way that you cannot do that with SSM. Kouma, it wouldn't even let me restore a CWM backup. Lol I was stuck like chuck.

Yeah, I was thinking of the main SD card, then the two secondary partitions. And when you said wipe, I thought you meant using CWM wipe since thats the term it uses, hence why I said (actually, copy/pasted kouma) manually delete. I can go pretty derpy when i've not had enough coffee.

Lol can't we all. I had to stop drinking the stuff although I have an occasional mountain dew once in a while. :D

I normally fix myself a half-pot of coffee every morning, and drink it over the course of several hours, until I end up microwaving the last cup. Mountain Dew makes me go into nervous shakes, way too much caffeine and sugar at once. I prefer Pepsi, which is ironic since i have a collection of over a hundred Coca Cola bottles.

Just for you Wetbiker. This may or may not fix your problem, but it will make it easier to wipe Dalvik for you in the future

I installed KK2.4 with CTMod 3.5. I have a 8gb sd card, it's set up the same way kouma has his under super secret mod (swap = 1987, ext = 1987 and vfat = 3974. Total = 7948 (8gig sdcard)) and have it on default in CTMod Settings (I was told that this meant it was SSM). Was thinking of updating to KK2.5. Will it work?

Was thinking that if super secret mod uses the partition that was meant for swap that enabling swap would not be possible... but I really don't know much about this stuff.
