Root [KERNEL][LG870] Freedom Kernel *Updated 9/14/14*

Well so much for that lol. Hopefully I can get a hold of an F7 from a friend when he upgrades to another phone. Then I can overclock it when/if I get the phone which would be much easier.

I'll update the first post with what works in a little while.

Be pation i bet is hard w/o having the phone if i had a computer i would be testing too but all i can do is cheer u up lol. Chev n you got this

Kernel Updated!

See first post.

This is a non overclock version with init.d added. When ZV5 firmware is released I'll update it to the new firmware.

I flashed my F7 to the unsecured kernel without init.d support. Is it possible to flash init.d support in the android recovery screen instead of 2nd init recovery since 2nd init recovery is no longer accessible?

Yeah that 2nd-init wasn't made for this phone so it doesn't work with loki'd kernels.

You need to install ClockworkMod recovery which was made for this phone...

What performance boost if any can I expect from this kernel, or is it just the same kernel modded? Sorry to question, just kind of want a lil better performance from this chipset...

The features you see in the first post is what you get. For any performance boosts you would have to use init.d scripts. If you guys like you can start a new thread for sharing any scripts you make or find on the web.

I don't own this phone so there's not much I can do for ya.

So the ZV5 kernel doesn't work without a loki patch update?
I don't know. I did a ZV5 kernel with a loki workaround and posted it for testing. Three people downloaded it and didn't post back on whether it worked or not. So I removed the link.

Nope, it doesn't work. It's a brick. It's the same thing that happens when you try to flash the cwm. It just freezes on the LG logo and doesn't go any further. Looks like we're toast until we can an updated loki patch.

On the LG Motion I flash the old aboot with the new kernel and that's what works for them without the need to update loki. Is that what you did with PG's CWM?

If so I can easily make a zip for that.
