You will need a ROOTED phone to be able to to this. I'm sorry, I should have posted this in All Things Root.
I finally got this boot animation to work correctly(sorta)* on the Prevail:
YouTube - ‪My favorite smart phone platform‬‏
*The animation is a bit slower than the one in the video and towards the end with the burning apple it gets a little choppy but still worth it!
How did I do it?
I edited the desc file. The first two sets of number(3 digit numbers) are suppose to be the screen resolution of the phone . I changed it to 320 420. Then used WinRar to rezip(Add to Archive) Part0 Part1 folders and the edited desc file. Chose "zip" as the archive method and the compression was set to "store".
I used the app Boot Animation Changer put it in the phone but some of you may know that to use the Import function you need to pay for it but I found a way around it. When you backup the stock animation via BAC it makes a folder in the SD card named "bootanimSTOCK". You can trick BAC into thinking any boot animation is the stock one you backed up by replacing the bootanimation.zip with one of your liking. After replacing it, go back into the main menu of BAC then > Advanced Settings > choose Restore Stock Animation, reboot your phone and you will have your own custom animation without having to pay for the premium upgrade. OR you could just use file explorer and go to /system/media and replace the file
