Root Kings unleashed r5 question

Well, I was very scared, for 5 mins it stuck on the white htc screen, did nothing. I pulled the battery it sat on the white screen again, I was about to post here that I was stuck on the white screen when it loaded...:). It is so cool! Loves it. This is a lame question I know, but can I still use custom wallpaper? Its neat but a little boyish. If I can use my own wallpaper, how do I switch back to this screen to show people?? Thanks sooo much for all the help. I feel Like I have a new toy to play with. LOL. I can't believe it finally worked, Is there anything I should know about this Rom?? Thanks for not giving up on me. :)
 
Sprint avg i have read is 570k, i wouldnt be happy with that myself but so it is. I would only really be happy with 800-900, below that and i would use a different prl myself but thats just me...

First boot after a flash feels like forever, and it is longer than usual it has to be. On the first boot let it chill longer than usual it has to write cache stuff to the internal on the first boot. Its ok. Now if it takes like 15 minutes its gone awry.

You can change the wallpaper, press menu-wallpaper. The stock one you see is in HTC wallpapers, you can select anything from your gallery. Want to switch just press menu-wallpaper again and change it...

I havent had any issues with it yet other than lockscreen force closing randomly, its causes no problem but it happens, i'l have to check a catlog...or just wipe cache and dalvik and see if that fixes it, or fix apks permissions...anyhow that doesnt really concern you

The 570k is that up load or download?? How do I switch between my wallpaper and the stock Rom alien image? My mind has drawn a blank. Love this Rom....its worth the effort we put into it. Really snappy :)
 
oh maybe try a wallpaper app called flikie hd from the market...has tons of wallpapers sorted however you like or search, then pick one and select set as wallpaper, easy, they are all pretty good quality from what i have tried.

570k is down, sorry. Up is for some dumb reason usually higher though it doesnt need to be, up is fine being lower than that. I mean my stupid broadband internet only goes 512k up, 3g does that...
 
you might wanna make a back up of this rom soon. God forbid something go wrong and you have to go backwards to the old rom back up, ugh :)
 
I've been using this ROM the past couple of days, and it's definitely snappy. Much more so than the stock Sprint rom. I've been on CM7 a lot though, and it's still not as fast as that, but I am liking it for a Sense ROM. Getting sweet battery life too with the most recent netarchy SBC kernel.
 
Yes, this Rom is great....What about the rest of the Kings Roms, as good or better than r5? I ask, because I am going to flash a new Rom on my daughters Evo. I thought we could each try a different Kings Rom out. Its amazing the difference in performance from stock to this Rom. Cm7 seems pretty popular too. Thanks .
 
With Kings unleashed I flashed 2 things...Kings format all, and the Rom r5. With cm7 is there anything else beside that Rom, that I need to flash first?? Is everything working on the cm7 Rom?? Thanks

it is a rom based on cyanogen mod 7 (cm7). however, i'm not to big on his theming on his latest r4. his r3 is pretty cool of you like green.

also might i recommend that you flash a custom kernel as well. kernels basically will help out with battery life. i'm trying out tiamat 4.01 right now. but i have been getting great battery life with this kernel. here is the link Tiamat AOSP Kernels :: Tiamat_Evo

for kernels, you would flash it like any other rom. the only difference is that you only have to wipe dalvik cache and cache.

as far as cm7 goes you can still flash kings format all. after that flash cm7 and reboot. then go back to recovery and flash the gapps file (this has all the google apps like the market and gmail).

First of all I went into Rom manager to change the recovery to ra recovery 2.2.2, then proceeded to do a nand backup, but the phone will not let me select anything to backup, will not let me check any boxes. What is going on? Daughter is running myn warm 2.2, netarchy toastmod 4.3.4
 
Hmmm , I changed my recovery in Rom manager to ra 2.2.2. Then I booted into (I think its called hboot.) I selected backup/restore. Then I choose nandroid back up. The list comes up in green of the different things to back up..boot..data...system....winmax...etc. It will not let me select anything to back up. So long story short, yes it ask me what I want to back up, but will not let me select anything. Sorry if thats long winded. lol
 
ok when you go to amon ra you should be able to use the vol up and vol down to move through the menu. there should be x's to the first three items (boot, system, and data). these are really the only ones that you will need. there other one that you may want to backup is the one for wimax (which is your 4g keys). you do not necessarily always backup wimax, but you should keep at least one nandroid backup on your computer with it backed up just in case you loose them. then select perform backup.

if you actually cannot select anything then i'm not sure that will help. i have never come across this issue before if that is the case.
 
That is the case, cannot select anything....very odd. Whats is concerning is since we flashed the alternate recovery ra 2.2.2, we lost the backups that were saved in Clockwork ver.3.0.0.5.. They are lost right? Thats what it says when you choose the alternate recovery . Any ideas? I am going to pull the battery and try again.
 
Ok the battery pull did the trick...2nd battery pull anyway. So im going to flash Kings all format. cm7 and that Gapps file.Thanks for the help. Hopefully it will go well.
 
You realize the power button is what you use to select don't you? Touchscreen won't work in recovery. Just an idea. I've never seen anyone get unto recovery and then have it no let them select anything. Very odd.

I would stick with r5 and just flash a theme over it. It's similar to flashing a rom. Download it, wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash the theme. No data wipe required!
