Root KitKat Remix Roms! CM 11, SlimKat, Omni, PAC, AOKP, & Carbon!

oh and those cm12 builds on the g2 mini...their next... I would bet the farm the drivers for it are identical to ours and those guys aren't having green tint issues. we can do this. might have to dig in to the kernel realm but maybe not..worth a shot.

Any discernible difference between the PAC remix and Curtis' Saber PAC ROM, in terms of features? Already had the download fail on me twice. No point in continuing to wait for Boost's blazing 3G network to fully download something if it's pretty much the same as what I'm already running.

Going to fix AOKP and Carbon. Will need to change from Dropbox soon (Data filling up fast)
I could talk to my web host & see if they'd allow me to mirror at least some of them, they don't really like it but it's not like my site is doing much atm anyways & I'm only using ~3 GB of my 75 GB of bandwidth each month.

I don't know the differences there. I think they may be the same but I have not gotten opportunity to try all of these due to time I spent on modifying stock rom. My PAC port is really the first of all the cm builds I have had good time with. Wish I could give you more on that but those who've spent time using them would be better to chime in there.

It:s pretty much the same ROM. I only called it remix because I'm fixing up a dev's older ROMs he made that had issues.

I was going to use mega or mediafire, but they are a hassle needing to DL other files just to obtain these files. Thanks in advance JoshD.

Can someone please explain how to move apps to SD card after installing this rom

I have been testing this on PAC ROM,cm11 base and even with edits to storage_list.XML in framework res apk the ROM refuses to open the move to sdcard option in settings apps. after more testing I edited fstab.x5 in root, got the sdcard move option to appear but after reboot the system rewrites the fstsb.x5 changes made and revert the file to default. it appears either framework, settings or the kernel controls rewrite upon boot of fstab.x5 which removes the barrier=0 change back to barrier=1 on system partition and userdata partition.

just to voice my opinion openly about CyanogenMod and any other custom ROM creators decision to disallow sdcard move option.....wtf...are you guys going the way of Google and manufacturers and carriers? no one wants to admit they were the dimwit who thought this was a good idea...

what a stupid move. sdcard move should be in all roms. no excuses or bullshit about security. that's just my take.

http://www.droidviews.com/restore-write-capability-to-external-sd-card-on-kitkat-manually/ will this help?

platform.xml fully edited. write capability already in current build of port. works on 4.4.2 but these dimwits keep twarting our ability to use sdcard the way we want with each build they fork out. getting worse than otas coming from carriers with their "updates" ...

sdcard support was removed in order to sell different levels of devices with different levels of ram....you pay more for a device...for more memory....sdcards are cheaper and add tons of memory in one shot. its all about the cash. that's the carrier and device makers scheme. they sell this load of bunk by fear mongering about security. well do a better job of removing vulnerabilities in the mess that android is...and lets be honest...android is pretty damned amateur when compared to OS's like windows. there's redundant crap in android right now that's no longer used going back to the first release of the OS. that's sloppy. no way around it. look in framework-res,settings and on and on...old lock screen crap from release one...any android build out right now would be half its size if all that garbage was no longer there. android has become a mess of patchwork coding. and each release becomes more like iphone restricted crap.

updated the info for people on that page above says their method works with correct info. left a little message for the trolling creators who thwart efforts to use sdcard our way. if I do by pass this. I won't post how. they'll have to dig and earn a patch for it. I won't freely tell them on some message board.

I this is on all the builds I have made (platform.XML)... But I'm confused as to why I still need an SD fixer to make anything write to ext SD.

I have almost always had to use SD fix on every KK ROM I have used with the exception of one of the new ROMs here recently and it made setup way easier. I have seen this issue pop up on lollipop too in a few cases. Thanks for putting work in to make the solution permanent, it is much appreciated!
