Leaker has achieved root!

Your at the point where you just need to get the loop.bat to run. Open it in command promt not sure where your is located but mine is like this

c:\users\jm\desktop\android-sdk-windows\tools\slide root\loop.bat

Also, try watching the video that was posted on Androidspin, but chances are you wont be able to get it working if your unsure how to use sdk or cmd.

And you put slideroot thats inside the slideroot.zip on the sd card i believe not the original .zip. Ive tried both ways.

Video posted now.... Shows a phone with 1.49 S-On bootloader version. Screen goes blank. Comes back with phone showing Amon's Recovery screen.

I can understand editing chunks of "nothing" out to save time and make video shorter, but that missing section makes me a skeptic.

if the video shows a phone with amons recovery then you know this is a total fake.......

this method has NOTHING to do with amons...... it uses clockwork

he said he followed the steps exactly...... it even says in the steps its not amons recovery......

total fraud.....

Im gonna make a video where I show my Eris 1.49 hboot.... fade to black...... then hold up my neighbors Incredible........ then claim that using this method will transform your phone....... I can be a superstar just like this phony

I still get the picture I mentioned before. I'm just going to give up. No one with an Eris had seen any sort of progress passed step six, so chances are, it wont work until a new method is released.

i keep checking this thread and hoping to see that at least one other person has accomplished this...

now i am becoming a skeptic... i think im going with this:

they are already rooted and are just screwing with us... haha very funny guys :/

much like everyone here, i cant wait till MORE people get success then maybe an easier method can be published, cuz all the adb and loop stuffs, lol, all i kno, is i want evil eris, muhahaha:p

still not convinced

he claims he got it to work...... then offers proof (which doesnt prove it works)....... then everyone says he's full of it...... now out of the blue a long time listener first time poster suddenly registers an account and says he also got it to work.......

gee I wonder if the same guy who made a video with 2 phones and claimed it was 1 could also create a new account to claim he also did it

do I think its possible ...... sure anythings possible........ but likely? NO

when I see other 'vets' posting that they also got it too work then maybe I will be more believing

Agreed. I'm waiting for thenestor or someone of equally high regard to report back.

So I'm not of high quality? :(

Of course, you'll always be my Orthopedic ;). I meant someone that claims to have successfully gotten root access from a leaked version of 2.1. Most of the trusted members here have determined it does NOT work, so I'm waiting to see if anyone can disprove you guys.

I think this is real. It may simply be that the timing is very tricky to nail-down (and repeat), which is why you haven't seen a flood of folks being able to do it. I can totally see a first-time poster claiming to have accomplished rooting a 2.1 leak and wanting to share his/her excitement and success with others--hoping it will help them too.

If it really is a timing issue, then you've got several variables to try to "standardize":

1) the /sdcard being used
2) repeatable instructions
3) the person following the instructions

Look at the number of folks that have trouble with the "normal" rooting instructions .

Just my two cents.

P.S. "I want to believe" (if only so that OTD can join Frisco in "club root" :D)

True. I'm just reading the XDA site and being patient.
