I used GIMP. Just colorized the eclipse icons. Have done some outlined ones as well...cyan outlined black eclipse icons look pretty sweet.

I've never really liked the cyan color and could never really understand the CyanogenMod obsession with it. I'm liking it now, but of course, as you know, it'll look different next week :p

Jeez.....everytime I look at this thread...it makes me drool and want to root. Are the gingerbread roms out of beta....like are they stable? I never really see an exciting feature list for gingerbread
 
Inspired by what has been posted here, I installed the Incredibly Re-engineered 2.3 ROM and have been REALLY pleased with it to say the least, but for some reason, my battery life is getting killed. Maybe time to flash a new kernel?

Anyway, here is my latest attempt at some customization. Nothing too fancy.

It's pretty sick so far. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do, to be honest. It's very fast and very customizable. If you're not married to sense, which I don't think you are, I'd say definetiely give it a try. The screen off animation is awesome. It's looks like an old school TV set turning off

What you have on yours is the default slider. Mine is a custom one. First thing is you need to turn off the default slider. Go to Settings>Look and Feel>Slider and Layout>then pick no slider. This will make your widget locker have no slider. Then on the lock screen long press and hit custom slider. From there you can put whatever you like and move it to wherever. The only thing is you can only use the default widget locker style slider. You can not change it to say the iphone style or rotary.

CM7 is great it's very customizable more so than any Sense ROM. Some can't deal with the vanilla styled calender, email, clock, and sms programs, but I think they are fine....simpler.

The battery life is a lot to be desired though. It will get you through a moderate use day and some of the newer .37 slayher kernels are getting better in that dept., but they are no where near the maturity of Sense/Froyo kernels yet. The .37's are fast and fluid though.

The amount of dev work and nightly fixes are amazing that is what makes CM so good. As Worm said it is most certainly worth a flash, setup, then nandroid it. What so nice about these nightlies is that you can reflash them with out doing a complete wipe. Just wipe dalvik and your cache partition.

Nice setup Worm sexy! I'm still enjoying IR 2.3 this wknd ;)

Instead of posting a 100 pics I keep editing and finally think I found my next 24 hour layout. My wife is going to kill me if I don't stop playing with my phone all wknd

I'm content with them, even if I change like 1 or 2 icons on that screen. Upload a new pic and edit the post lol.

Just make her a nice Valentines day layout just for her! hahahah.
Maybe it will justify all the layouts u keep making.

Already got her Inc in hand just rooted it a few weeks ago. I'm coming up with something cool she loves orange hmm...I have a lot of ideas!

OK I'm done with mine for the night....seriously!

I figured AOSP rom's would have better battery considering it's so stripped down. I did start using a screen off profile in setcpu and that's helped, but it's still not as good as sense. AFA the vanilla apps, I don't even use any of them so it's not an issue for me. I use smooth calendar for appts, handcent or go sms for texts and gmail app for email. It's a good ROM that's getting better everyday (literally) and it's a must flash if you're rooted, IMO. That being said, I think I may flash my backup of IR 2.3 later today, I'm starting to miss it's battery life haha

Thx! Yea the only thing that keeps me from hanging on to CM7 is firstly my OCD with flashing, but secondly the battery life. With IR 2.3 I go 2 full days with what I call moderate to heavy use before a recharge. I am running the 1500mah TP2 battery though. I'm rarely around power so it's nice to have this kind of battery life

Love the orange theme I had it on for a few days! Looks great worm!

I'm using a similar setup as before just different paper and widget locations. Guess I've found something I'm used to (minimalistic widgets)
