For most of the layouts you see, you don't have to be rooted, some mods we do, like changing our notif icons/colors can only be done by rooting, or some of our lockscreen n lockscreen mods. others like some of the clocks/date things you see, pictures fitted on certain parts of the screen, etccc, can be used by launchers, diff lockscreen apps, widget apps, and other apps.

Rooting is handy for operability like WidgetLocker breaking functionality and such. Plus, wifi tether being unlocked and custom roms are wonderful

Supra, how'd you get a lock screen without an unlock button? Or is that what was 'erased' at the bottom of the pic?

I'd imagine he is using Widget Locker app and chose no slider with either the menu unlock or trackball unlock option. Just a guess though supra what say you! :D

In widgetlocker under look&feel/slider&layot,
Just select no slider.

Can also use transparent images sometimes to

Trying out a new font (neutra) on CM7 RC1 with tweaked (drop shadow'd) eclipse icons and minimalistic txt widget.

Thanks, fellas! I'm really happy with this setup right now. I got so sick of using minimal text/simi clock widgets I had to go analog for a bit. I really like that argyle wp, Dan. I have one similiar in different shades of blue. Also, if anyone likes the dock I have a link for it in numerous colors
 
I love the Neutra font! Been using it on all of my png files for a while now. Gonna try out IR 2.3 in the next couple of days to see if I like it more than RR 2.2.

I think the best way is to get an account with imageshack or photobucket then post the IMG url here. You can also upload through this site although I've never done that.

How are you trying to do it?
 
Has anyone been able to get SMS Unread count on the widget locker home screen? Same goes for GMail.

I have tried putting icons on the lock screen (interactions disabled), with desktop visualizer to show no icon, but with hopes to see unread count. I have not had success. Is this possible?

Hope with this is to not always have to unlock phone to see what is up. Thanks!

Finally the new 2.0 update for widgetlocker came out, modding is cake now on it lol, Guess u really don't call it modding anymore lol, more like themeing it. People are already porting a bunch of the sliders over for 2.0 now in the xda thread so that's great!. it's so smooth now, can change the layout like launcher pro with rows n columns, lota other stuff

Ima try to make something tonight so ill post up when i'm done.
 
Alright I hope this works. But I think my lockscreen is a bit dull... working on figuring out how to change it.

Ya, I prefer the more minimalistic themes as well. Use of Vector/Vexel art in backgrounds and supporting imagery makes them look really nice as well. Just super polished
