I am so new to all this and would like to do customizing like what a lot of you have done on your Evo. Problem is, I dont know if I can do it. Is there a simple way to do this? I've seen everyone post different apps that they've used. I guess what i'm asking is which apps is the best at achieving what I've seen everyone do so far? I have lots of cool images that I would like to use. Thanks for any and all help.

Mel,
Some of the best screen shots, in my opinion, are from rooted phones but there's plenty of things you can do without being rooted. Having Launcher Pro or a similar after market launcher increases the ability to customize your non rooted phone. Creativity is a personal thing but besides that, I've got you covered on some of the apps. I'm sending some info your way. Welcome to the forum.

Here are my screen shots. I'm on CM 6.1.1 and using Project_Bliss HD as a theme - except that I've done some tweaking to it to kind of create my own Batman theme. I did have a Bruce Lee theme going on, but after 5 months of it I had to switch it up.

Beautiful Widgets with Ninja clock
ADW EX with a screen shot of the hidden dock.
Text Icons are TallMin Icons
Jorte for the calendar
Circle Battery Widget
GOTO for the lock screen.

How do you change the status bar at the top? How do you modify your battery display, reception, wifi signal, ect.? Is this part of running a theme/kernel/rom or....?
