Mine is on-par with the G3, 3.5hours of SOT.

You've got to remember, the first week to 10 days battery life on a new device is never really representative of the devices actual battery life.
That being said, if sync/wifi/mobile data etc is off, that does seem excessive.

what is eating the battery? This battery monitor can help narrow down the offender.

What? Can you explain why this is? Maybe the old nickle cadmium batteries behaved oddly, but I never experienced this with the newer technology, which is why we have the newer technology.

You and I had opposite experiences. I had the S6 for a day and couldn't return that POS fast enough.
What happened with your s6?

Hated the ergonomics, didn't like the smaller screen, battery life was so-so (but that may be an unfair opinion given how short I had it), not a fan of TouchWiz, etc. I like everything about the G4 better.
Gs6 is slippery! Had to put a case on it right away.
Touchwiz is much better than when I had the gs4. IMO, nothing beats HTC sense for Android skin.
Glad you are liking the LG. Maybe next time I'll give it another try.

I had the droid turbo and omg the battery was lousy. The LG G4 beats the turbo hands down. I charge mine before sleep. Keeping wifi/data on; next am it's at 95%. Today, used it all day, camera, web, etc. from 9 am to 7 pm, it went down to 82%. So, I am getting amazing battery life, which did kind of surprise me. Did anyone take advantage of LG special in sending you a 32 GB sd; extra battery and battery dock, all free.

My first day (and night). Battery is lasting around 4-5 hours between charges. That's kinda bad. In my G-2 Pro, I had an option to see which services were on in the Task Manager. I got WHOLE DAY charges on that phone after I turned off a few services which I didn't need.
Cant see that option in G4. Is this a Lollipop change or LG? Would be great if someone can help peel the onion skin and find the services to turn off.

What are you doing that is killing the battery in 4-5 hours? Even with (for me) moderate to heavy use I easily get an entire day out of it.
My battery life has been at least as good as the G3 and the quickcharger feature is fantastic. That said, whenever an app pops up in my menu bar, I click on the "i" and turn notifications off. Briteness auto off and set at about 80-83%. I'm not willing to sacrifice the nice display for extra battery life. Location is off. Wifi and Bluetooth is on.

I have the same experience. I consider my self a moderate to heavy user and I only put my phone on the charger before I go to bed. In most cases it's still more than 50% charged at that point.
When I was an engineer at VZW I was tasked to determine what circumstances caused battery drain. 90% of the time it was signal searching. Not due to a bad signal although that is common as well. But more frequently it happened when people were located between two or three cell towers and their phone would handshake with each one constantly instead of a consistent relationship with a single tower.
Of course there were people who failed to mention that they were streaming music or Netflix all day long. But those were the same people who complained about their overage charges as well. XD
Sorry to hijack the thread here, but I'm thinking of going to a G4 from S4 also. I do not have big hands. Have you had issue with the difference in size?
I concur in your comment about Signal Searching being a big problem. I work in a all concrete block building with rebar in the walls and metal roof trusses, pretty much acts as a faraday cage. Company has cell repeaters in many places, but the phone kept searching to find a better signal or something. I was lucky to be at Hi 20% at the end of a work day. When I was at home on weekends where I have good signal, the battery life was much improved, so I have started turning off Data at work except for when I actually need it. A few times a day during work and at lunch hour. I am now arriving at home after 12 hours off charger with over 80% remaining, and still have access to phone calls and txt.

I came from the Droid Turbo, horrible, horrible phone. The battery on that was worse then any other phone. The Lg G4, now on AT&T is amazing battery life. End of day I clear all history now, charge it around 5-6 pm, heavy user the past couple days, and it's great til next day same time, have 50-60 percent left. Compared to the turbo, same thing would be down to 20%.

So far I'm at 44% and I've had 13 minutes of talk time and 1hr and 9 minutes of screen time. Not very impressive really. My G2 would have killed this when it was new. Though since the Lollipop upgrade that phone sucks battery like never before! My girlfriends needs to be charged 2-3 times a day since the upgrade. She's not on it that much really.
How high is your brightness set? Phone's got a lot of screen, so having it cranked up and on constantly will take a lot out of it. That said, I leave my brightness at 100% and make it through a typical day of moderate use (no streaming video, minimal gaming) with about 10-20% battery when I get home.
Not a perfect solution, but if you're in the US and bought it from a major retailer, LG is having a really great promotion until the 30th: free battery, USB battery charger, and 32GB microSD (the one in my package was a SanDisk Class-10 U1).
