Post a link of ur Lucid runnign a program that needs root. Posting false info does not help the community.

Seeing as how a few other people were able to remove bloatware (which requires root access to do) the method does indeed work. The op already provided pictures. If you were unable to do something that others were then the fault lies with you. Lmao.

And as for removing bloatware i never do that alot of the are tied to the system i always wait for a cuatom rom to be developed

i wouldn't remove any. Not yet anyways. People are bricking doing so.

In the playstore there's an app called Online Nandroid Backup that dosent require booting into recovery to backup. I don't know if it uses cwm but it does need busybox installed to work. Can somebody try this and share their backup if it works?

Can you try this in the meantime please?

If you are running this method and getting errors it is becaise you did not un pack the file and are running it with out the other items included with it just extract to a folder on your desktop the try it again

Do not remove any programs or use titanium to integrate anything into the rom. doing so will get you the dreaded security error on reboot. I found out the hard way but was lucky enough to recover from it with the lg support tool and putting phone in download mode. I'd wait until someone figures out how to disable or remove whatever is checking the rom and fixes it so we can add or remove things from the rom.

Yeah i never mess with system files. I use tktanium to back up the apps and luckypatcher to remove ads and apply custom patches to the apps

This is how to run .sh on a mac terminal not sure if itll help you any

As I am new here, trying to help a friend root his newly updated lucid. running the script in linux denies permission and nothing happens. Trying the older spectrum root, same thing. anyone else had any luck rooting not on windows???

i dont believe so every time i've ued it it backs up to the sd card, if there is an option to i haven found it if anyone has please let me know

Make sure u backup all ur block partitions before you try CWM recovery. On my Spectrum it nuked my 4g and imei. It might not do it for the Lucid but just a heads up as ICS on ours that was leaked has some security block that would let u boot after installing cwm.
I doubt very seriously CWM nuked anything, its doesnt even have the radio partitions in its fstab, so it cant even flash those.

Whats prolly happened is like all other LG's (and others) that have gotten ics updates. The bootloader is locked and the boot and recovery partitions/img are signed. At boot, the bootloader does a sig check and if it fails the phone wont boot.

what am i missing??? i tried to root using OP way, it goes through the script, says i'm rooted, but i am not.
any suggestions? i am on a LG Lucid that just got upgraded to ICS.
