Root LG Lucid's ICS backup

That would be nice..what's the difference between the two phones? Other then having diff carriers.

Don't quote me on this but I think the only difference is the display. I think ours uses isp? Or something like that and have a higher resolution. Again don't quote that. Lol.

F00k lg they always do this, we paid more for our phone so its only right we should get ics first smh hate lg that's why moving onto samsung.

Thanks for the news screw LG gonna chat with them now and let u guys know hell no we pay more for the phone and we dont get anything while verizon version gets it screw that. I am not tolerating this I want all of us to get ICS.

Well I'm going to flash it when it becomes available and see what happens. We have some pretty good unbricking methods here. Hopefully the few differences will be tolerable.

I dont think that lot of devs do this kind of work for money i think its more like something to past the rime of if they have the gadget for improvement of it. Anyway if this phone has the same drivers as lucyd i dont think it would be that hard to make a port, other thing is to make it work from 0.

If you flash this you can possibly brick the modems or network and there is something call test mode where your phone will become more like a wifi device then a cellular one even with the brick fix it wont do anything, because those fixes does not touch the special efs partition. So my advice dont try matter of fact you can even get a hard-brick which is not recoverable with any method that we currently have.

Alright.

I think the problem is that Metro has to pay LG for work on a update to be done. This never happened on the Samsung Galaxy Indulge. The Cricket Indulge got the Gingerbread update while the Metro Indulge was stuck at a buggy Froyo. I believe it was promised to get an update as well, but never happened...

I know we was promised an ICS update, but I am not holding my breath... I was let down before. If I have no expectations, I can't be let down =/

Ours is a nova display I believe while that is a standard TFT I believe.

We have Nova, they have an IPS display according to what I am seeing in the specs. IPS>Nova. IPS also is what is in the iPhone 4/4s/5.

Also I know for a fact they have a better battery, there battery is 1700mah vs. ours which is 1500mah. They are unofficially compatible, so if you want a extended battery that really works get one.

A Nova display is based on IPS Technology and we have a higher pixel density, Connect being 242 and The Lucid being 233.

But you are correct about battery size, which ICS will only extend, I haven't had a problem with my battery since flashing #2

If the lucid is able to get a ported connect rom working for there phone i don't see why we can't get a lucid rom working on our phones. Is it because the source for ics is not available for the connect? But ur right, you shouldn't flash a rom straight from a diff phone without putting any work into it.

Well, he'll probably zip it before uploading but if not it will save me the trouble of having to unzip it. Everything that the guide says to change out is within system.tar :) wish me luck.

edit: on page 3 of the guide it says cannot port stock roms. There goes the dream.
