Root LG Lucid's ICS backup

hey PG, was curious if you took any interest in the lucid? shabby had a working CWM but he ripped all his files out due to an AF bann a while ago.. so there's basically nothing happenning over there now.. i would like to put together some form of rom etc.. for them but they may need a dev of your caliber to help with CWM, or maybe if you have time can teach me a thing or 2 about CWM's lol ill try what i can :D

Lucid has an official CWM in RM. ;)

I doubt CWM had anything to do with the spec loosing 4g on a leak lol, prolly more like 4g was buggy in the leak to start with.

recovery is simple and only thing that would really change in CWM if rebuilt for ics (which is dumb is you think about it) is the kernel itself, which wouldnt add/take away any features or benefits.

Dunno just going by what I've read. I don't own a lucid or spectrum. should i tell lucid owners to go ahead and flash cwm?

Nah, if you are referring to flashing CWM after they took the ics update, that prolly wont work as it prolly has a locked bootloader now with signature checking too boot. ;)

yeah it does NOT work on the ics update.. according to shhabby's testers lol, unless i mis-read the replies.. seems there's an exploit patch in the ics update and im not sure as of yet if it was solved.. but work can still be done with GB roms if they can successfully downgrade..?

and thanks pg i didn't even know they had it in rom manager already LOL

i just need to get my hands on a stock backup :D and also figure out the mount points.. lol

Yes it does and it seems to me that the new boot loader is just like the motions, which is bad news...unless someone finds a way around this on one of these devices. I know the optimus 4X has an app to flash a recovery and it's something like a boot strap.

mount or unpack stock recovery.img, etc/recovery.fstab or recovery.emmc.fstab. ;)

Damn... I think I'ma just go out and grab that gs3 afterall. I really didn't want to but all this talk of locked bootloaders and autographs is really turning me away from lg. And yes i know its signature not autographs. Lol

You are 100% correct and I truly apologize to all of you except of course the one and only person who was "hating". I don't know why I said that, as I was just re reading what I had written I thought crap, the rest of them didn't say squat.
