Be careful backing up and restoring system apps as it can sometimes cause some issues. It's usually recommended not to.

Kwknott if I get a chance I'm gonna see if I can fix zv4 with your work here, mainly updater script and binary. Might not even be worth it though since you did a pretty awesome job with zv5 here. Nice work, everything works great.

Yeah, but as Qremote is the only way to use the IR, it's worth trying at least. As this isn't an actual part of the system, I think it'll be fine. I was able to backup the NFC Service, delete it, and reinstall it fine, just had to manually make it a system app again.
 
The SuperSu zip inside my rom zip flashes the su binary to /system/xbin. If you look at recovery it tries to fix root in /system/bin so it's useless. Don't think it'll hurt anything other than having a useless su binary floating around.
 
Dirty flashed over stock rooted zv4 with TWRP. Everything seemed to work OK, but every time I reboot, it has to reoptimize 14 apps. Link2SD shows that some system apps are not odexed. Reverted back, waiting for deodexed version.

I may have removed it. I'm close to having a deodexed version so I'm going to add everything back and have a full odexed and full deodexed version and then a tweaked version.

Strange, I'll look into it.. Haven't had any issues yet. I should have a deodexed version in a day or two. I've got all the apps deodexed so I just have to do the framework files.
 
I have 2 new rooted zips made. I made a full odexed and a full deodexed version. These have not been debloated at all. That way you guys can customize them to suite your needs. After testing I'll upload and post links.

My next project will be a deodexed, debloated tweaked rom.

How's the performance of ZV5 compared to ZV3 and ZV4? I'm still on ZV3, so I don't have any experience of whatever performance tweaks were made to ZV4.

No it's flashed by the ROM zip.

The only thing that has to be flashed separately is the radio.

No noticeable difference in my opinion.
 
I've noticed my phone is not as zippy as it was on zv3. I'll play around and continue to debloat,but, other than that its great.
 
Idk if its jus me but my phone is quite a bit zippier, good job on the roms, i appreciate u and yo work, and everybody elses work done on this phone as well, keep up the good work u guys

If there's some logs or something to send to investigate, let me know.

Once you start debloating it should speed up a bit. I'm working on another ROM now which I've debloated everything I can out of it. Removed the LG launcher and replaced it with Google Now launcher. I'd like to try to get it as close to AOSP as possible. A lot more work to go.

I wonder if it has something to do with Link2Sd. Are you actually linking apps with it? Might be messing with the cache. Been a long time since I've used Link2Sd but it seems like it may cause this issue. Might have to unlink everything, update then relink or do a clean flash. Have you tried rewiping cache and dalvik-cache in recovery?
