LGNPST Lab 1.2 (Better than my fix)

will it also restore network settings as well? thats the current problem I am having, my mobile network status is disconnected due to my stupidity and I dont know the metro network settings so I am unable to receive the 1x data stream from metro or access internet so on and so forth

As I said this will restore your phone to an "out of the box" state. If your mobile network fails to work afterwards then you either have a hardware problem or Metro is currently having network trouble in your area.

Are src files visible before they get flashed some how on your file system?

Say they are packed up lg style. Well android recovery needs a update.zip or .img images to be able to flash it to the OS.

This updater/downgrader some how unpacks its source file into one of these formats to be able to flash it to Android.

Basically I am asking you to go fishing...Lol

You could try running it from a terminal (cmd) so that you can see whats it doing at the moment. Lets say if this gets done, every future update can have it's rooted brother much simpler...:D

Don't get me wrong, we will still have the wicked step-brother. But we will have to downgrade every time a new rom is released...

Do not select the BIN option, isntead select UPGRADE, if you select BIN, you will be able to use the .TOT file that was provided here, but you will loose your ESN, etc, etc, it will put them all at zeroes, and then you will probably need to write them manually with CDMA WORKSHOP, i heard you can also recover them, by using a file with the extension .NV (i think thats what it is, not sure at the moment) that file is usually located in the MODEL folder, but i recommend not to use the BIN option in the program, instead use UPGRADE option.

Not to be a dick or anything but where did you get this version of LGNPST. Reason i ask is because this was a private file, the cracked file is a beta crack that i have done in the past and packed and was not to be released to the public.

1 reason specifically is because this exe does crash and has crashed on people while flashing the phone so be careful.

well this is the only option people have in order to use those files, i understand the forum rules, but we are not trying to clone phones here and fool the service providers, it is a way for people who got messed up phones to get them back to life, lets be a little objective here.
thanks

im pretty sure this entire topic is against the forum rules (and illegal)

I don't know about androidforums rules.

LGNPST may be boarding on illegal.

All previous versions of the Component and Generic .dlls were openly available on cdmaguru's and mobile-files.us forums. It just the newest ones, 5.0 that they threw a hissy fit over. Guess they weren't finished profiting from them before I came along.

The other files like the TOT, SCR, PRL and MS690.dll all just make LGNPST do the same thing my downgrade solution did. Restore the phone to stock. No one was complaining about that.

If there's that much of a problem, have a forum mod confirm it and either I or they can remove the thread. I'm not looking for a ban here. There's at least some decent people around here that don't just want to drain you of your cash.

It also provides a full sourced resurrection of a software damaged personal phone. Also, being the only way to downgrade any updated phones used threw their upgrader. There for loosing their opportunity to personalize there Android OS.

Please realize the process necessary to obtain a privilege to customize their Android OS. Please do not close.

im not talking about what you can do with this, I'm talking about the fact of posting pirated software and a crack to get it running for free.

(this is illegal)

Modifying firmware is frowned upon by cell phone manufactures and cell providers alike, that why it voids your warranty when you do it. Would you say that's illegal?

here's a mirror with instructions included. It's hosted by Google docs. Thanks andy for the upload. really cdma gurus should be thanking you for getting traffic to their site but .... Also when you use the flash_image command do you have to enter su first. It's a long shot but I know I just rooted a droid eris and they don't require you to enter su to flash a custom recovery. If so then try it on the 2.2.1 update who needs a root exploit when you can just flash a custom recovery and then an update zip su in it

The new DMCA rules do allow the cracking and unlocking of phones so long as the software used is obtained legally. People charging for modified dll's are probably violating the law but the act of modifying the technology to allow cirumvention of the copy controls so that handsets can be made interoperable with other networks is now considered a non-infringing use.

We can continue to have this discussion but lets move to another thread.

Plus I'm not the one to be talking about the legality of things. Anything I own that can be tinkered with, tweaked or modified in someway I've done it. 360, the original Xbox, PS2 and Wii, a Nintendo DS, a PSP, a iPod Touch and my own PC. All modified. :P

LOL! Traffic to their site. Nah...I don't think they really care. Money, that they care about.

You know if I was like those jerk offs and charged for my fix what they charge for those .dll's I'd be sitting on about $5000. 95 downloads so far, compared to 30 for the Component and Generics.

I am at the step where *.* needs to be typed in but no file comes up nothing happened I need assistance please

You have to navigate to the "C:/LG Electronics/LGNPST/Model/MTP/" folder if you set everything up properly. Then type *.*, press enter then choose the tot file.

Are all these files in the "C:/LG Electronics/LGNPST/Model/MTP/" folder:

Common_UserSCR_00.scr
MS690.dll
MS690ZV3_36.S3_36.P3014.tot
Reggie.exe
Setup.exe
MS690ZV3_36.scr
3014.prl

???

If so did you run Setup.exe and say ok? Then did you drag MS690.dll on top of Reggie.exe and did it register the file? You must do this in order for LGNPST to find the phone.

Do you have the phone drivers installed? Those you can get here: LGUnitedMobileDriver.rar

Do you have the phone plugged into one of the usb port on the back of your PC?

Make sure you follow my steps exactly. And choose MS690ZV3_36.S3_36.P3014.tot for the BIN file. MS690ZV3_36.scr for the SCR file and 3014.prl for the PRL file.

There's one step I neglected to mention in my tutorial.

To start the update process you must enter the phones SPC code.

To get this code use CDMAWorkshop: cdmaworkshop.rar

Unpack the rar and then run "cdma workshop.exe" with your phone connected

Once it's loaded, look for the "COM Settings" and set this to "COM5" then click "Connect"

(EDIT!!!!!) - Your COM port may vary. Mine was on COM5, then I installed Windows 7 and now it's COM3. To check what COM port your phone is connected to, -->WITH YOUR PHONE PLUGGED IN<--, right click on the "Computer" icon on your desktop and select "Manage". Then click on "Device Manager". Double click on "Ports (COM & LPT)" Look for where it says "LGE Android Platform USB Serial Port" The "COM" shown there is the port you want to choose for CDMA Workshop to connect to your phone. (END EDIT!!!)

Then click on "Security" at the top. Where it says "SPC" select "LG Method" from the drop down menu then click "Read". The output is your SPC code. Write it down and when LGNPST asks you for it enter it.

LOL that was a big oops on my part.
