LGNPST Lab 1.2 (Better than my fix)

Hmm....thats odd. Open a command prompt in Vista by clicking the Start, then select "All Programs, Accessories then click on Command Prompt.

Then type "cd c:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Model\MTP"

Then type "regsvr32.exe MS690.dll"

See if that registers the dll again.

Modifying firmware is frowned upon by cell phone manufactures and cell providers alike, that why it voids your warranty when you do it. Would you say that's illegal?

your just not getting it. you can do what ever you want with your phone, break it, crack it, smash it, throw it in a lake, i dont care.

Im talking about "cracked" software(meaning its cracked so you dont have to pay).

LGNPST Lab 1.2 with crack: LGNPST.rar

Hi there.

Here's how the policies work, pretty simple.

If it's copyrighted software, it has to come down. But that's within reason. Many phones are put back to stock with a link to an RUU exe and we're ok with that.

andyo70 - Please drop me a PM sometime by tomorrow or so and let me know the source of these files.

If anyone meanwhile has reason to doubt the provenance of these files or can show we're skating on copyrights, please also PM me.

Reason for PMs - it's off-topic to discuss legalities here, and please don't open another thread for it - only mod-staff's vote is really going to count.

I'm more than familiar with the DCMA and we'll tend to use precedent law for this issue anyway.

I don't see money changing hands - all we care is: what's the source of this material?

Looking forward to those PM's, cheers, thanks a lot.

I found out what happened for some reason all the files went in with the components 4.0 folder can you tell me what files go in the 5.0 folder

C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\CommandProcessor5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_BaseModel5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_BasicComControl5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Command5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_DLManager5.dll

C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_UI5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Utility5.dll

No. Neither does InstallComList_Root.txt

Make sure you open "InstallComList_Root.txt" make sure it has all this in it:

C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\CommandProcessor5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_BaseModel5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_BasicComControl5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Command5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_DLManager5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_EFS5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_ERS5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_FLASH5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Log5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_MemoryTransfer5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_NVStorage5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_OneBinary5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_PortManager5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Script5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Security5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_UI5.dll
C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\LGNPST_Utility5.dll

If it doesn't copy and paste that into InstallComList_Root.txt

can you give me the listing for all 5 and where does ComRegManager go? also in the CDMA Workshop step I changed the com port to com5 and hit connect and it stated that com port 5 doesnt exist

A listing for all 5 what? And if CDMA Workshop can't connect it still sounds like you don't have the drivers installed.

oh and ComRegManager goes in "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Components 5.0\"

I'm out of here for the night too so this is it until sometime tomorrow.

cwcast - Welcome to the forums!

andyo70 - We're satisfied.

Others with questions - andyo70's file sources have a unique provenance. While LG software is proprietary, staff sees a greater good being served with this limited version to support recovery by regression to a stable rom, into an out-of-box state. The information is already rampant on the internet but those cases are more about sneaking in updates and getting into a wild-west mentality. For these reasons (including provenance and use case, not simply violate copyright because it suits us - that would be wrong), the thread stays open rather than to lock this down, as we normally would have.

Note that you run regression / recovery at your own risk.

Thanks to all those who brought this to our attention as a copyright issue and thank you andyo70 for working with us on this is such a truthful, straightforward manner.

We caution everyone, however, to simply contact us first before posting this sort of information if there's to be a next time. PM to myself or any mod will suffice.

Anyone with further questions on this issue, please PM me rather than post off-topic publicly, thanks in advance for that.

received message "the module MS690.dll was loaded but the call to Dllregisterserver failed with error code 0x80020009"

i had the same thing happen to me i got the same error i fixed it by running Reggie.exe.in windows xp compatibility and the i draged the dll on it and it registerd and the hole thing worked perfect thanks guys

I should have thought of that. I'm running Vista 64bit Ultimate and didn't have to do that, but it seems to be the fix if it doesn't work.

Andyo70.
give credit, for this info. you took this from other forums.
first guy post this in mobile files was 123456&, how load tot files

I would have to agree with cwcast about the credit...

Speaking of credit Please give credit to Andy070 for explaining to Moderator EarlyMon and the panel of Moderators for the positive use of this thread.

Thank you to MikeTools for trying towards to help seeing the positive in it's use.

Thank you to everybody that didn't help, but tried too.

I thank everyone that make's Android that much more fun to play with, even though it distracts us from the real world. Lol

ALSO: PLEASE CHECK THE THANK YOU BOX TO THE RIGHT OF POST 1 and 43!!!

I haven't had to use this yet (*knocks on wood) but I'm glad it's here just in case. One question though: Do we even need this since we have the custom recovery now or does that still only work on 2.2?
I thought I read somewhere on this forum that richie found a way to root 2.2.1. Maybe I'm wrong.

So far we have not found a way to root above 2.2 on this phone. Since we only use this to downgrade to stock 2.2, at the moment it is unknown if any upgrade replaces the recovery.img. So saying, Thank God we have this Thread!!!

Thank you to MikeTools for trying to close down this post and for not seeing the positive in it's use.

Now, now.

MikeTools wasn't the only one concerned, and with good reason - it took some intensive detail work on the mod staff to clear this one.

Think of him as your loyal guardian - without folks like that, bad stuff would happen and we'd be living in a world without AndroidForums, and this place would be as spammy and flameful as the rest of the forumSphere - or could cease to exist under legal pressure. It happens, here's but an example:

And please - remember my motto:

Attack issues, not other posters!

Cheers, thanksAlot.

I agree. I don't think Mike was trying to be malicious. I think he was just concerned about the legalities and possible ramifications of this thread if there was, in fact, pirated software being passed around and being used for illegal practices (which is most definitely NOT the case.)
