Root Looking For A New Rom

Hello Rooted EVO Crowd! as my title states i'm looking for a new rom. Currently I'm running ENERGY and it is a great rom but the more I look at it the more I want something simpler.

The type of rom i'm looking is clean, fast, stable.
I also think i'm shying away from SENSE. I want a stock or mostly stock rom.

I'm confused, do you want stock rom or sense, cause aren't they the same?

I would try tommy's classic tomotoes... I ran it for a week and it is super simple, super stable, and blazingly fast with great battery life.

Or give mik3.0 a try, it's a crowd favorite.

I'm with Littlr here not sure what your looking for. If you want to get away from Sense then I would recommend Xplod or Decks. I don't really use Sense ROMs but the ones I have that I would recommend are Tommy Tommato and Swag

I agree with giving Tommy's Classic a go.

If you really want to get away from sense, there are senseless versions of both MikG and Tommy's Classic.

That would qualify as being senseless but being mostly stock?

Yeah that rom your running now is a beast.. like 256 mb. And it is slow as hell. I am running ICS right now and I will say besides the Calender not working its very awesome a very snappy

Sorry that's 286 mb.... destroyer is also a pretty smooth rom and very small size.. it was my daily till I decided to try out ICS

If I remember right that was a Stable ROM as well. Its been a while since I flashed it. Did that one not long after I rooted so I was flashing a new rom every day. Now I have tried a lot of them out there and have just kinda stuck with Xplod. I am planning on trying the latest Warm I've read a lot of good reviews on the 2.2 i think it was. The newest one is based on Sense 3.5 if I remember correctly.

Sorry about the confusion. I want a stock looking rom either 2.3 or ICS.
The only problem I found with running ICS is the lack of apps that support it.

Try Deck's stable GB rom if you haven't already. Very stable version of CM7 customized for the Evo.

Also, it's not supported anymore since the devs both have new phones, but I really liked SalvageMod as well.

Thanks man I went ahead and went with SalvageMod. It's excatly what I was looking for. It's look and feel is just so clean! It makess my Evo look new. and the rom it's self is so small 100MB! Leaves a lot of space.

I must be doing something totally different than everyone else because for my phone, NRG's rom is the fastest sense 3.5 rom that I've tried. I've been using it as my daily for over a month

Maybe. I was running Energy about a week ago. It's a pretty fast 3.5 rom. Idk if it's faster than NRG's rom. But me personally I like the simple clean UI of AOSP.

JTG ICS rom is now on the Beta 1.5 version and its way way more stable than Alpha 5.... (uploaded last night)
they have 8Mp camera working, no video tho....
using it as my DD and its a good ICS rom to try and get EVO up to speed

I have changed my tune a bit and I would actually recommend Deck's 1.3d build. Technically it's a beta built on the 2.3.5 platform, but I have been running it for over a week and IMHO it's better than stable (most of the guys on XDA who post in the thread there swear by 1.3d as well). My phone sleeps at a lower ma on 1.3d than on 1.3 stable. Also, ShootMe (a great screen capture app) does not work on 1.3 stable since it's built on 2.3.7 rather than 2.3.5. I'd definitely give it a shot if you want something barebones.

Also, I have ran OMFGB before, and it was very good as well. I have heard if you want something as stock and barebones as possible OMGB (not OMFBG...yes, it's confusing) is the one you want. Built on the 2.3.3 platform and the dev made it as barebones as humanly possible.
