Root looking the swap rom for evo 4g

What is a swap rom? I'm unaware off any custom rom or dev by that name. If this is a custom rom, then this thread will be moved to the root sub forum.

the rom can use sdcard for ram.
never heard of this rom as well.
are you talking about roms that uses a2sd which moves the apps to the sd card?
are you rooted?

It has something to do with a2sd but I don't know what it does. It's a setting you can select when you partition. I'm not sure if this is really what the op is asking about though.

Its the same as windows page file. Its basically hardisk space that is reserved for the Operating System to use as memory. This allows the OS to be faster at getting and sending information to and from the CPU. Allowing it to use the much faster bus speeds of Memory to Cpu than the slower speeds of Hardrive to Memory to Cpu.

I doubt what your looking for is a ROM. ROMS don't handle memory management. Kernels handle all that. So your more than likely looking for a kernel. Think Mizzou said something about freedom having it. The newest one.
A ROM is a go between the user and the kernel. The kernel deals with the hardware and then relays it back to the ROM which gives results to the user.

you want universal so make sure that it says universal before downloading
might want to check out the different ones and see what is going to work best for you. Just make sure any of them you try are the "Universal" ones

I hadn't realized someone took over. I knew lithid was not doing it anymore so I guess I was under the impression that the "old" newest ones .09 used swap. Guess if I used Sense More I would have known this but then again maybe not. Really like the Anthrax kernel. Maybe he will add swap support. Anyways thanks for the correction there capt.

It wouldn't use that kernel. It has caused several users (including me) to get random reboots. There are other gingersense kernels out there that work great so I would try them.

I believe he is talking about the new freedom kernel. The anthrax kernel is stable and the v.9 freedom line is stable as well

I'm using MikG - but it's not the ROM that enables swap - it's the kernel. And I already provided you a link to the kernel. It'll work on any Sense Gingerbread ROM (I've tried several).
