Im on day 2 of SF1.3 and so far its great. Ill stay with it and report any issues. If it goes sour ill go back to AR until its fixed...
 
I have a problem with the wifi. Ive been running 1.3 since firday and every things been doing good other then the battery draining fast. I was watching some you tube this morning and the wifi got spotty. Figured it was a problem here at work with it. Now it just keeps disconnecting and turning the wifi off. Hopeing its not the phone. Im going to do a reinstall and see.
 
Hows this for fast?

Hang On Bud, as soon as I finish reworking the white patch Ill get 2.0 finished up, Ive got it mostly deodexed now, and Ive found some extra tweaks and gizmos to add, everybody likes bells and whistles.

Gotta keep pushin the limit...

EDIT - Oh and the fix for connectivity problems seems to be a data wipe, and also finding the line in the system/build.prop that says persist.cust.blah.blah.eons, (dont quote me on the exact spelling, when you find it you will know) and delete that whole line, save and reboot.

You could have just ranked my decode Rom and went from there. Or are you still rocking the frankenbase.
 
Someone please help, I tried flashing this rom the way it said to and when it was in the middle of flashing it it got an error that said something about no app2sd partition and it won't let me mount /sd-ext, can anyone help me with this? It also won't let me restore my backups.
 
go into clockworkmod and go to advanced> partition SD card> then select the size of the partition, 1gb is good but 2gbs is better. Partitioning will take a few minutes but when its done you will be able to restore the 1.3 backup.

@Out of Ideas - Im having a lot of problems with the frankenbase, and eventually it is going to make my theme patches incompatable with the stock merit rom if I keep going, so I have decided to switch back to the Merit base, and it seems like I am having all of the same problems you did. I just popped over and gave that thread a read through, and I like what I see...
 
Did you have an ext before you attempted the install?

I will post a backup of 1.0, and you can try that but I have never heard of this before, you must make sure that you follow the install procedure to a T.

The 1.0 backup will be found in my dropbox as soon as it uploads.

No, right now I have not made any theme patches for the euro version yet, the framework of the euro version is quite different, so the stock merit based themes will not work. I will make some eventually, just havent gotten around to it yet.
 
This is a grt rom and battery life seems to be awesome and i only use this as a wifi phone. But when i reboot i get FC`s on all the apps except for play store. I use holo launcher too could that be doing it. I wipe everything and format system just to be sure.
 
Two things don't work:
  1. Text to speech. Resolved by finding a PicoTTS.apk, and installing. Now it talks to me
  2. The standard Browser. If you send a link to the phone, nothing. If you click on the browser button on the dock, it kills launcher.
Fixed the pico, not the browser.

Kinda a BIG missing app. ALOT on the system counts on/uses it.
 
...And it is just what I was looking for.

Tons of room (with a fast class 10 32GB sdcard). While it WILL 'wear it out' faster, 'faster' is a relative term. Odds are you will either lose the phone or die of old age first. Been using the same SDCard in my G1 for over a year with same data to ext setup, and swap. No ill affects.

You may need to reboot first thing once or twice. (No biggy. Scripts are funny that way. In my case, I had no cell signal or wifi til after 2nd reboot, and SU was a bit wonky until then.)

No Pico for tts (I use Maps/Navigator ALOT), but easily solved w/apk I already had from breaking down the stock rom.

No browser, but can get one from Play. Would've been nice to leave stock browser in.

Eyes hurt from font, but I always switch to the Ubuntu font on ALL my roms

But, all in all, a good rom

Now, we need some CM goodies to come our way
 
Sorry to hear this. I do belive that the Merit/Avail is going to be hurt. I feel like your work will not get to be viewed or used if removed from this site forever.

I dont really see that as the case, they just have to know where to find it.

Everytime Ive ever wanted to find somthing bad enough... you bet your ass... I found it.
Besides, I wont make it too hard to find my work.

The reasons for the move are simple, and selfish perhaps, but I didnt start developing to be Mr Popularity, I create the files that I do because I have this unstoppable urge to twist knobs and flip switches. The move will allow me both more control and more flexability, aa51 has their own ftp server, and I would rather not have a bunch of accounts when I can just use one instead.

Anyway... The 2.0 update is not far out and I have made a patch that installs a dialer, mms, contacts, music/video player and stock android keyboard apps all themed to fit right in with the rest of the blue speedfreak theme. To get it you just have to go to the site mentioned above. Everything will be up in a few days.

Also I hope you update your work here so that it can be found and used for those that will normal never find it on the other site.
 
Thank you, It makes me glad to know that people enjoy my stuff. Ill still be on these forums from time to time, and Ill post links to get people moving in the right direction, but aa51 will be where the vast majority of my posts and where my files will hosted.

Having joined the in-house dev team at aa51.com, Ill also be working on the AreaROM Merit Project, and Ive got a few other things in the works. I can still be reached, but the exodus to the darkside has begun.
 
I havent been able to meet up with droidhost to get my ftp box set up over at AA51, and I feel bad about leaving you guys out in the cold, so I will post a link to a working copy of SF2.0 in a little bit, there are some known bugs, but at this time I think all of the bugs are cosmetic things.
