The speedtest results were pretty crappy. 3mb down 1mb up.
The process is pretty quick. T-Mobile phones don't need to be unlocked.
But I did anyway. I went to an authorized dealer where my wife works.
Regular price is 10 for sim card and 15 for esn switch. All she did was put the phones imei number into the asap system under byod and the sims # and put the sim card in the phone turned it on and it worked right away. No programing over the air or maual.
First off thanks for you input, first hand feedback is what this thread has been lacking all along.
This does sound like a pretty simple process, although i'll speculate on something and say, that those $15, sounds like your typical mon-and-pop 'fees', in fact, i think if i went to a mom-and-pop shop right now to switch my device, i'd be charged with one of those 'fees' that could be avoided if i called *228 lol, i could be wrong though, and this could be a new standard fee on new BYOD transefer/setups, anywho
Let me ask you a couple questions.
1. What phone were you using prior to your swap, and what speeds were you getting on that? if you had the same 3/1 speeds, then its just your area.
2. Would you say this swap could be done over the phone? as in someone calling in and doing the setup part, provided, the sim gets somehow shipped to the customer first ofcourse.
As i stated earlier im not in one of the 4 BYOD ready markets, and i want to attempt connecting a Tmo S4 in my location, this information would be greatly appeciated!
