I installed it last night. It wiped my radio and internal. Took me half the night to restore my phone, most of it was hunting down all the older version of the apps I was using. Man I never realized how valuable app backup programs were till now. Just gotta remember keep a backup of my backup.

i use titanium backup to back up my apps. i paid for it so i can run schedules, which i run at 2am:

takes all apps that are newly installs and backs them up
takes any apps that had new data (as in i played them) and backs them up
takes any apps that got updates and backs them up
takes any apps i uninstaleld and removes the backups
takes any apps that are installed to systme and intergrates the updates (otheriwse you have google maps taking 30+MB's of /data/app space and /system/app space...)

then following that titanium media sync uploads my titanoium backup folder to my dropbox and shabbypenguin.com and does it so that they sync and its not just uploading over and over again taking up space :)

plus i use instant upload on g+ so all of my photos and videos get saved to google. i could lose my entire phone and be recovered within a day

The thing is I like to update apps when they come, but most times I'll find that I like the older version better. So if it syncs automatically would i lose my old apk? Also do you think it's possible for the rom to wipe my internal or could this be early signs of sdcard failure?

well i only have one set of backups to preserve space, but you could have up to 5 i believe.

as far as your sdcard getting wiped im clueless

Ok so maybe I'm lost lol what's wrong with having a good old backup?

Nothing. It's just that I was using RTB Pro to backup my apps, lost it all when my internal sdcard went blanked (for reasons still unknown). Normally it's not a big deal just re download everything in playstore but I like older versions of certain apps. Took me hours last night to finally hunt them all down. I've got them uploaded to dropbox now in case it should ever happen agan. :)

Hmmm titanium sounds pretty nice. Now all I need is a rebate card to buy with. They didn't offer any with the s3, maybe the s4. Lol

In Shabby's case, I'm sure he doesn't want to constantly do the backup through recovery so he automated the process and it helps him should he lose the phone.

For average users, a backup plus access to Google play which shows all apps tied to your account, is plenty security.

Airtoclient - your issue is different than the S3 sdcard issue. The S3 issue is for external sdcards as far as I know, not the included internal.

Yeah I've never had a problem with my internal before. I just didn't think a rom could be capable of wiping it, but it happened flashing a brand new 10.1. Seems too much of a coincidence...

i wouldnt mind doing a backup in recovery, but i got so used to flashing new roms that i wanted my apps with me. not wiping data when switching is bad and can cause issues, so i would wipe but get all my apps back with their data. id have to "resetup" the device with google logins and passwords for wifi/facebook etc but thats all.

and id have a good clean start on a rom :)

Anyone else have trouble with 10.1? I don't want to flash it if I can't have data

Don't flash nothing there's no data.

Edit: cm 10.1 did not wipe nothing but it did make a different folder and in that folder you should have ever thing even your backups, its in that folder that says 0.

im not feeling cm 10.1. I got used to how on cm10 the quick settings were in the drop down menu with small icons, and is just me or is the icon spacing on the home screens different... there is a huge gap between the top and the first row of icons on every homescreen...

i think i'm gonna go back to cm10

LOL, i flashed a little while ago and i saw everything was gone! i was about to kill someone but then i realized that i was all in that "0" folder. whooff, close one :D Glad we're making moves to 4.2
Personally, i've made a transition from liking touchwiz to being perfectly happy with aosp based. I think maybe my nexus 7 has altered my feelings

I just installed this rom and everything is working fine but I did install the 10 one not the newest one. And also installed the Google play store app file worked. So I just wanted to thank you guys for all of your help.
