First off - what happened to the Swype keyboard? I can't seem to make Swype work. Secondly, during a call on speakerphone (I tend to leave conference calls on speakerphone) how can I keep my screen from going dark and having to hit the unlock button again to be able to do anything?

You can D/L a different keyboard from the play store that has swype. after you d/l it, you will have to go into the setting - language and input and select the keyboard that you want to use as default. hope that helps

Is the factory Swype keyboard in there, because I can't find it....


Also, I've noticed something else. Apparently, I've lost S-Beam also with CM10. Can't find that in the Play store either. Any ideas guys?

Go to settings - language and input - and you will see your keyboards. Let us know what you see and what you want.

Sbeam is a touchwiz feature

The only keyboard in here is Android Keyboard (AOSP). And I have to keep turning off Google Voice Typing, it keeps re-enabling itself. Rather annoying. I just want the stock Swype keyboard that it had when it was new in the box.


So, is there no way to get S-Beam back then? Where can I find a list of things that were removed for CM10?

Voice typing will keep doing that. It's there when you need it, pay it no mind.

Sbeam, along with other touchwiz features are only available in touchwiz. CM is not made for just Samsung phones. Therefore, they can't list what was removed. To do that for every phone would be inefficient and a waste of resources.

Based off of your preferences, it seems you would benefit from Metropolis rom which is in this forum and made by shabby. Have you looked into that at all?

But I don't need it, it's a pain in my ass - it's always in the way of me trying to use the comma. And no, I haven't looked at any other ROM's, I really don't want to bounce around and use different ROM's, I'm very much a 'set it and forget it' kind of person. And I REALLY don't want to go back to stock... :(

OK, if you don't like keyboard that much, just download a new one from the play store. I believe that has already been suggested to you.

You say you really don't want to go back to stock yet you are asking for the stock keyboard and touchwiz app(s) that are only available at this time on stock touchwiz or the modified rom I already mentioned. Metropolis is not fully stock, there are modifications.

I am also a set it and forget it type when it comes to my phone but you have to find which one works best for YOUR needs by trying them out YOURSELF. Reading, although fundamental, is also critical. Before doing anything, one should read as much as they can on any given topic. It helps makes decisions easier.

Ya, I get what you're saying. I guess I just assumed CM was the end-all, be-all of reliable, stable roms. Thanks!
 
:confused: Anybody have a guess at what is causing the bluetooth music streaming problem. Sometimes one song will play fine and the next its breaking up and then the next will usually play fine, etc. The phone audio part of the bluetooth is fine works great.

That's the biggest issue for me and the reason I'm still on bb6..lol I listen to a lot of music over Bluetooth in my cars.

I have tried it , still doesn't work properly for me , the Bluetooth streaming that is, I will try it again with a fresh download just to make sure it wasn't a bad download.

Liquid smooths new build has working Bluetooth streaming. I'm going to try this cm newest build.
