Root [MetroPCS] Most stable root method for 12b

I had to factory reset using the LG support tool again because I wanted to install the SD hack method after it took me so long to root and I have been doing this for 8 hours and I totally give up...I thought this phone would be easy to root and have roms as such...so pissed...I'm going to leave the phone as is...this phone would be great if it were that easy...I had the 1st hauwei, Admire and Motion...all were super easy to root, mod, theme whatever...I have had this phone since November and everything is complicated like on some android super programmer type way...I'm done son
 
alright so i finally got my phone back to i for the time being my question is trevor is there anyway to modify the install.bat for your i root to make it work with 12b? how hard would that be. it would make it easier for everybody rather then going through all the bs

The root method i posted was not made by me, i only created the guide because i didn't see one on the forum :(
 
i am having no luck trying this way or any other way including cydia motochopper, kingo etc. every possible combo of all these, reinstalling drivers, hard resetted, tried on 2 computers one xp, one 7, also all these on mtp... ptp... charge only... and lg drivers and no luck. My question is can i revert back to I and how do i do it, very frustrated with it so i am finally breaking down and asking! plz plz plz can someone point me in the right direction!!!
 
I'm in the same boat, I tried almost everything. There must be something different about our phones that it's somehow restricting or malfunctioning root.

I've rooted twice already with kingo by itself. Framaroot and saferoot are not needed since they do absolutely nothing to help the rooting process.

I agree, it does seem to work for some... however for me i've prolly tried about 2000 times or so with no luck, and that was with switching between mtp...ptp...charge only... and LG Software. dont know whats up, but really wishing i didn't update :(

Thats why i want to downgrade to 10i, and just skip the update completely! If anyone knows how...
 
Once I get the stock 12b kernel, I can upload the update. If you guys plan on using gt's kernel, I can upload everything else.

If you use the framaroot with gandolf injection, followed up with a kingoroot, it should work. It did for me.

I successfully downgraded to 10i! For me it ended with Param=95

I used root and saferoot over it but my phone didn't have supersu.. On cmd it said it was successful so I downloaded root checker from the playstore to check again and it said I had root. So now I'm rooted on 10i with no SuperSu, which is odd. I'll wait to update once there is an adequate way to root 12B, but for now i'll enjoy root.
 
OK Everyone i finally downgraded!!! My setup included an older laptop running tiny xp oct. 2011 edition and the OLDER drivers that come with the FW upgrade program, will test and see if my rooting dilemma was caused by the same problem, me thinks it is LG's update to drivers that might be messing with it!!! Also if u go this route make sure to install the included msxml parser included in pkg as tiny xp doesnt have it. Thx to everyone here for the help! and maybe someone else can test old vs. new drivers, i think it is definately worth looking into, as i see that all these methods for root have some that work and some that dont, with all the different combo's I've tried, I have put alot of work into finding this out and REEEAAALY hope this helps the ppl that were as frustrated as me!

@ajamie234, i would put your method back up and tell ppl to use old drivers included in your downgrade pack, i think they were 3.7.2, i will test with 12b when i get a chance, but i need my phone for the moment!

well at this moment nothings gonna happen i just had to get a replacement for my phone due to some testing that broke my sim card reader. so for right now i am done testing and messing for a bit. sorry guys really dont want that to happen again had to go to three different stores that werent that close together and i dont drive so i had to ride my bike everywhere i got off of work at 4pm est and just got home at 8:30pm est.
