Root [MetroPCS] [WIP][ROM] Flashable Rooted 12B Stock Rom

Got tether to work on pc but not ps3 but need root, will wait for AB for a stable 12b root

Game Theory got root on 12b but used King_Andorid_root on windose. He said it took him 3 hours of trial and error.

I re-rooted with King_Android for the forth time.. on 0i and no worries. I just follow GT's steps.

I'm still saying "install later" on update 12b .... maybe forever.
I don't TRUST the money grubbers who wreak root and lock down the BL even more than it is.

Maybe you can ask the carriers ceo's for me...
IF i use more data on tether, wouldn't I have to buy more data, and wouldn't you make more money selling more data?
HUH?

the sd card hack may or may not work i havent tried but you have to take in to account that you have to factory reset which may cause root loss on 12b if you have it rooted at this point i already had to do the process over again cuz i tried and got thrown in to a bootloop so i gave up lol

So yeah, I just went through install again.

E: Error loki-ifying the boot image.

Honestly don't think from the error message it has anything to do with your ROM, but since I was installing it I figured I'd post the message here.

EDIT:

phone actually appears to have booted up correctly. will see what happens after I screw around with it.

RE-EDIT:

So phone skipped the setup phase (might have been purposeful), but then google keyboard kept constantly crashing every time the system attempted to access it, and the home button will not work. Will try pre-installing google keyboard before updating after I KDZ (forgot to set a new backup. Oops.) That's gonna be later today though. Need to get ready for college now.

Yes, it was set up to skip setup.

I am not sure why good keyboard crashes. I never use it so, I wouldn't have noticed.

If you want to use this with the SD card hack, replace the 'boot.img' file inside the zip with Pressy's kernel, and rename it to 'boot.img' and you are done. rezip, and flash.

How would I find Pressy's kernel when the version he's released is in the form of an apk that auto installs? just curious because I've been considering installing that too if I can ever get this thing working properly for me. :P

from inside the f6utilitys apk.

1: Rename the .apk to a .zip.
2: Extract file from inside the zip [Zip -> assets -> pressy4pie-sdhack-boot.lok]
3: Rename extracted file to boot.img
4: Replace the boot.img file in my zip

is there a way to do this for xrecovery or at least a touch based cwm i dont like the push button ones much.if so let me know.i tried looking for the files in the apk but it doesnt seem to have a dirct img persay

I'm sorry sir, I can not help you then.

If you aren't going to read directions, I can't help you with something.

i did read directions and im running your firmware fine but on the suggestion you make using pressypies cwm release it does not work on the xrecovery as there is a installer.sh,2nd-init-Vu2.tar,and busybox only in the assets folder.im assuming this can not work that way so i was asking if theres any image you know of that gives touch based functionality instead thru recovery.i read perfectly clear and i support you,no need to get snippy just cause im asking a sincere question

He's telling you to go inside the f6utilities app, not the xrecovery app. That's why he's telling you to read the directions. ;)

I'm curious why steps 3-5 are needed:

1.a: Download this, and place it on your SD card.
1.b: (optional) download GT's kernel and do the same.
2: Reboot into CWM.

3: Factory Reset
4: Reboot into Android
5: Reboot into CWM.

6: Flash what you downloaded.
7: Reboot.

Most other android devices, just boot into CWM, and flash a ROM, do a factory reset right after if you really want to make sure things are clean, but don't need to boot into regular Android and back into CWM before flashing. Seems kind of pointless.

when i make a phone call the screen goes black : ( and then takes foeevr to load screen and i think it shuts down aftr i end phone call sorry wrong rom cant delete this post
